One of my favorite experiences was meeting Snow White at Akershus. We mentioned something about meeting the dwarves, and she asked, “Were they working hard?” And I replied “Well…all but one.” And she got the biggest smile and started riffing about Sleepy! On another visit, my brother’s MIL and I were waiting for our cohorts (shopping) on Main Street, and we had an incredible time talking with the Suffragettes! Assume you’re talking to the characters and you’ll have a great experience!

If you plan on taking a ride share from MK at the end of your park day, the easiest way to do it is to walk over to the lobby of the Contemporary and order your car from there. Doing this allows you to avoid crowds on the monorail, the ferry, and at the TTC. It also allows you to save money by not paying for a Minnie Van.

Went to Magic Kingdom the other day and it was crazy on how much was going on, but I loved every part of it. (I even had Mulan sneak up behind me after I got my picture with Mickey out of nowhere and I got a pic with her)

Two huge cheer competitions take place in Disney (ESPN) during April (sometimes May), you have The Summit and Worlds, big gyms and D2, so expect a ton of cheerleaders in the parks and hotels.

Some of my favorite things to do in Magic Kingdom are to watch the parades. Festival of Fantasy, the Adventure Friends Cavalcade, and Boo to You at Mickey’s Not So Scary is awesome! 😍

AJ and her team do a stellar job as usual. I have a couple of tips based on my Feb. 1 experience. Watch the fireworks from Frontierland, especially if you have claustrophobia. Not many people around, great view of the fireworks themselves, and you can see the castle - just not the Main Street projections. Afterwards, let the crowd clear out while you have a nice seat and enjoy Country Bears Jamboree (which I can never get enough of) and/or Hall of Presidents (which actually is a fine show, and Walt’s way of celebrating the United States. By the time you reach the castle area, things will have pretty well cleared out. Another tip: if you are alone and have a disability, don’t take a Minnie Van. I don’t know how else you can leave the park without struggling to a bus stop, but you will never be seen in the crowd of families, kids, strollers being loaded, etc. If your phone has a good charge and you can communicate with the driver, go for it - but my iPhone 13 was too hot to charge, even in the evening, and I got stranded.

I’ve been surprised with a 2 week trip to disneyworld with just three weeks to go and our first day there is literally the day Tron opens. To say I’ll be trying to join that virtual queue is an understatement. To be one of the first to ride a new ride and on my birthday no less, I really really hope I get in!!

No one’s going to run to Tron first during early theme park entry because there won’t be a physical queue. That pattern won’t start until they open the standby line.

I'd love to go one day, but I've suffered from vertigo episodes and ear problems so many times that I'd probably skip the rides, which makes it feel a bit like a waste of money, but on the other hand it means I don't have to stress or waste time in line

I can’t ride much either (and forget Universal!) Do slow boat rides like It’s a Small World, do as many character greetings as you can (I enjoy every one!), grab interesting food when there’s not much of a line. Walk around and enjoy the landscaping, the architecture, and the little touches like those hidden Pascals AJ tells us about.

I relate in a way; I sometimes have the same problem (probably more along the lines of motion sickness) during other trips, so I don't do thrill rides or coasters. I also don't like fast speeds or sharp turns so I try to avoid them, including rides that include spinning. I definitely prefer seeing shows, eating, and getting merch. But the Buzz Lightyear ride/game where you're shooting Zurg's henchmen is my fave (sorry, Zurg, but I still love you), so I could see myself doing that a lot, LOL.

Sounds like Magic Kingdom would be the perfect park for you! Ride slow/dark rides and watch shows like the Tiki Room, Country Bears, and Hall of Presidents. Catch the parade, castle stage shows, and fireworks. Meet Mickey at Town Hall and snack around the park. You could have an awesome day!

@@OverlordZeroULTIMA this is always so fascinating: the difference between bodies. I used to love roller coasters, the Mad Teacups, sudden drops, fast turns. My brother couldn’t do them because of motion sickness. Well, in 2011 I needed serious neck surgery, and I was told I could no longer do those cool rides. My brother still has motion sickness. I would love to do Seven Dwarves Mine Train, Guardians, Tron, Expedition Everest, etc. But of the thrill rides I was able to do before 2011, the only one I really, really miss is Rock n Rollercoaster.

The last two times I was at the Magic Kingdom the shooting gallery was free! Even though we saw the sign posted saying "35 shots for $1" (which is way too cheap for Disney), there was no fee. It was a great way to pass some time when other people in your vacation group visited the nearby toilets. Give it a "shot." It might be free.

I have alot of favorite rides in MK but my all time favorite is It's a small world. I know that the song can get annoying but the little kids on that ride are very cute and the wait times aren't usually that long if u can time it right.

One more thing: you can almost forget about getting reservations for a fireworks dessert party. I tried at the right times for Feb. 1, and rechecked over and over. People do not let $100 or $114 per person deter them. There’s a whole lot of money flowing around Disney World.

I went to Magic Kingdom back in February and I cried watching Cinderella castle for the first time and thankfully I have a friend who is a cast member and really was an awesome guide for my first Disney experience I hope I can go back in October so if there’s any advice you can give me for October that would be great

I like the virtual queues. I haven’t had any issues using them (for Rise and Guardians). To me it’s the closest we have to fast passes. As for the mine train, it’s a long line even at rope drop! Peter Pan is another one that’s always crowded.

Need to correct you on the extended hours for MK. We were there last week and were not staying at a deluxe resort and had extended hours two of the 3 days we were there. We spent 15 hours in MK our last day. Mine Train and Peter Pan had an hour wait the entire day - even at rope drop and parade/fireworks (and we supposedly went at during an off season week). We had Genie plus for Peter Pan and ILL for Mine Train - both between 9:30pm - 10pm because those were the only times we could get them. It's crazy how popular those rides are.

@@CMMRF23 I don't know. I bought My ticket to MK and reserved my park pass and the day before I was to be in MK we saw on the Disney App that the hours were 9am to 11pm. That was the case twice in our WDW vacation last week. And my 4 daughters live in Orlando and have WDW passes and they said they have extended house at MK all the time, they said it recently started.

That's a good recommendation. During my Dec 2022 visit, half the time the app wouldn't allow me to check wait times, showtimes, or book Lightning Lanes when I was in a park. I'd have to restart my iPhone Xs two or three times to get the app to finally access the info I needed. I can't blame park wifi because my friends never had any issues accessing data on their Androids and newer iPhones.

i feel the same way… i cant plan anything anymore- no fast pass planning, no dining plan planning. All that does is make me worry about missing something… I love pre-planning so I as the parent can just show up and enjoy the parks without getting frustrated in the lines with people that didnt plan… and I refuse to pay extra money to ride rides (ie- Genie)… all rides should be included with the cost of admissions! All rides should be able to be ridden with the cost of admission too! they need to get rid of the virtual ques

​@gena geeraert I have been to Disney over 20 times since the 80s, and yes, it can be very stressful. But thats usually because everyone tries to do to much. My favorite times at Disney was when I took a friend and spent time at Disney Springs and the different hotels. Visiting them by the monorail or by boat. It's very restful siting at the hotel pool bar having people wait on you! While your enjoying the weather and scenery.

Our problem the last time, was our phones kept running out of battery. You have to be on your phone literally all day. Any tips for that? I'm not buying that phone charger kit from Disney. If you're going solo, I would take at least two fully charged portable power banks (I found some reasonably priced ones at Walmart-just make sure the USB cord fits your phone BEFORE your trip in case you need to return them). Another tip is to put your phone on Low Power Mode during times when you're not actively on your phone. Hope these tips help!
