Ok, I’m hooked !! Two minutes in, literally, and I pause the video to subscribe to your channel. I haven’t been ‘on board’ with the whole smooshed can/posie pocket trend, but I do enjoy the cans that Kelly Sherry from Flea Market Rescue creates. And after seeing your first creation with the real eggs and the real grass growing from the real eggs…..well consider me your newest tin can copycat !! 😻😻😻

@@CreativeDIYPurpose KIM !! Thank you for the warm welcome and just so you know my level of support for your channel...I’m sitting thru an hour long potato/probiotic commercial ad for you right now, that’s how much I’ve enjoyed your first few projects. Lol. (Plus I scooped litter and got the trash can to the street for Friday pickup - so win/win). Lol. I look forward to the rest of your can projects and your Sunday video drop. Have a happy weekend (and I’ll be back at the end to let you know which project was my fav) 😘😘

I’ve been mainlining craft videos since Covid started and this video has been exceptionally helpful. I’ve never heard of your tip to fill a can of water and freeze it so it doesn’t buckle when you hammer in the holes. And I’m going to be using your soda can labels with metal stamps ASAP. And the tip with the gesso soon too. Thank you so much!

If you did a wide running stitch around the edge of your pin cushion fabric, you can then pull it tight to make it fit into the can. Love your creativity ❤️✨

I hope you haven't already answered this question. I just found your channel today (5/27/23) and love the way you decorate your cans and especially the wind sock at the end. Beautiful!! Anyway, my question...why do you use Gesso vs. other mediums such as paint primer, etc. Asking because Gesso is a bit expensive for a new tin can crafter (me! 😁) while trying to purchase other necessary items. Thanks for your anticipated answer - or even from other experienced people who might want to let me know. PS: I love your blog, too. Headed to work now but I'm sure I'll spend time watching and reading over the next few days.
@CreativeDIYPurpose Жыл бұрын
Hello & welcome! It's wonderful to have you here! You can use any primer that works for you! I just happened to have Gesso on hand and wanted something with low odor. I will be posting new videos this month and now you have me thinking I'd love to do something w more tin cans ❤️❤️❤️❤️

If you unmount the stamp from the wood block, it makes the stamp flexable
@CreativeDIYPurpose Жыл бұрын
Yes good idea. However, this one will not remove. I think the previous owner used may have used a very strong glue to adhere it because all of my other ones came off easily ❤️❤️

I have a suggestion with the big stamp block. You can actually remove the stamp from the block. Use a heat gun to loosen the adhesive. That way you can stamp on a curved surface. If you want to stamp on a hard surface you can use just like we do with IOD or use can use a clear mounting block.
