I will always respect fowler and the paramount team that not only took a chance on that horrific sonic but immediately realized they did wrong and gave us a movie series that all fans of Sonic can enjoy. The first series in ages where every sequel just gets better than the last.

The Panels scandal was nowhere near the same level of failure as even the GoPro Hero 4K. And unlike most companies in the video, Marques corrected course and recovered from the controversy, so it would have gotten a 1/10 at most. Also, Arun *was* going to feature Panels in a video before Marques's apology (at the end of his celebrity products video, you can see the Panels logo).

One correction: the valve didn't develop proton. Proton is a fork of Wine, a compatibility layer that was first developed back in 1993 by Bob Amstadt and Eric Youngdale. Valve do manage their version of it in Proton and have developed it further, they however did not actually create the original software that its core is based on.

Fun fact: Wine is also being used as the primary compatibility layer for ReactOS, an open-source version of Windows (but built from scratch rather than the NT kernel) without all the Microsoft junk. Unfortunately, the project has been solely driven by volunteers since the '90s and development has been incredibly slow. Steady but slow. They aim to start compatibility at Win XP/Server 2003 and go from there up to Win 7 (initial long-term plan).

I know a lot of people have their issues with AI, as do I, but honestly to me, what makes this feel bad is that I really think that they had their hearts and minds in the right place. As someone that is autistic and had no siblings to talk to or play with growing up, it has always been hard for me to read facial expressions and tone with others. I'm not saying I would have asked for one of these machines, but...for those that WERE well-off enough to afford one, I can honestly see from personal experience how much of a help it could have been. It's a shame that it went out the way it did, but I hope that someone else can eventually take the dropped ball here and run with it. And if nothing else...minus the inability to give refunds...at least it didn't get killed by controversy.

I don't understand why people don't just set their computer up in the loungeroom, plug it into the TV and use a controller. It's baffling. 4K TV ✔️ Surround sound ✔️ Controller ✔️ Comfy Lounge ✔️ The very idea of wasting money on a console when the games are much more expensive, and the graphics are never as good is just silly, unless you don't care about those things. But any tech savvy person still using a console is basically just wasting money

Tbh, some folk prefer having their PC in their own rooms for privacy reasons, as well as the fact that a whole bunch of games either having their ideal control scheme on m&k or just not supporting controllers at all. Also a lot of people use steam link to stream their games from their own PC to their living/lounge room TV.

Even when people knows the benefits of PC, they'd rather have a console because it's more plug and play. With a PC, there are so many steps to take even when you buy a pre-build, that some consumers are turned off. Not to mention having to buy not just a controller with a wireless dongle but also a wireless keyboard with a built in trackpad so they don't have to back and forth with a keyboard and mouse on the floor because windows needs it. Even Linux doesn't work that well without a keyboard and mouse, except on the SteamOS, that isn't even public yet. Steam deck is a success because even though it is basically a laptop, it consolefied the PC experience. And keep in mind, I am a PC gamer. I haven't played on a console for years. But I've realized some of the hassles I've had setting my PC up to the TV. Which I find tolerable but others would be turned off by.

The track pad does what it's supposed to do, and to play games such as Lego and even racing games it works just fine.. I just wished it had rechargeable battery and usb-c

That Moxie failure made me cry. My son is autistic and often uses AI to help him understand why he struggles to make friends and keep calm. Losing a Moxie friend would have absolutely shattered him, he would have needed therapy. I’m so upset that it failed. That would have been incredible for many kids, but disabled kids especially. I hope they get another chance one day.
