I once heard Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto, and the Grieg Piano Concerto, arranged for two pianos, performed by two college professors, in a small auditorium with only a few dozen people in attendance. I, and a couple of friends, were on the front row, and the two pianists put their hearts into it. I thought the standing ovation at the completion of the performance would never end. Both professors were quite surprised at the reaction, but they deserved it. It was a magnificent performance... But, watching this video, I have to wonder how many near heart attacks Yuja Wang causes in the classical purists in her audiences when she "rearranges" well known classical piano pieces like she does in this videos. Kudos to you, Kim, for including that clip!
@MelodiousHeart15 жыл бұрын
Oh, the concert you described sounds so wonderful, something that I would have loved, especially with the two of my top favorite piano concertos played!! I've been to several casual classical concerts, but they didn't play those two pieces. You were very fortunate! Hahaha...I had to laugh about your remark about Yuja Wang's Turkish March performance! :-)) Thank you for your support and friendship, Michael. I appreciate your kindness.
