About her getting political read her Rolling Stone article 2019, the Vogue article on it and the Miss Americana documentary. “The summer before that election, all people were saying was, ‘She’s calculated. She’s manipulative. She’s not what she seems. She’s a snake. She’s a liar,' (...) These are the same exact insults people were hurling at Hillary. Would I be an endorsement or would I be a liability?"

Women really aren’t allowed to be both beautiful and smart. Men can be handsome and smart, but beautiful women are often assumed to be airheads. Smart women are stereotypically tough looking, etc. a lot of her haters have no idea how smart she really is, talented, business-savvy, brave, etc. true Taylor fans love the fact that she is all of those things.

Country music STILL has an unwritten rule about keeping your mouth shut (look what happen to the Dixie Chicks for one line at a live performance, look it up if you don’t know what happened). She was told by everyone around her to stay silent on politics. Miss Americana on Netflix she is having discussion with her parents & Sr mgmt (her mom is still her manager) about speaking up finally and how upset she was about being silenced.

well on the part of political view, if you look at the timeline is basically right around the time where people were hating her for no apparent good reason, so she DID kinda risk infuriating people and losing fans or followers or even income. (at least that is what I think)

From the start of her career up to 2017 when she was still under her previous record label, she was constantly told to be silent. "A nice girl waves and says hi, a nice girl doesn't force their opinion on someone else." This is common in country music and they even have this culture advice to new country artists that "Don't be like the Dixie Chicks." It wasn't until 2018 when she moved to Republic Records that she became political. She explained all these in her Netflix Documentary. She also said she didn't make noise against Trump in 2016 because she was in a very bad place (Kim, Kanye, Katy, Tom, Calvin, squad drama).

When you're in your twenties, what do you really know about politics? I surely didn't. My friends & I voted according to who was popular. I did not realize the consequence of my ignorance/neglect until mid-thirties. In Taylor's case, it was good that she waited until the peak of her career because now she can survive any backlash for her opinions. Career survival/management.

I love Taylor and I know that her views always come from a good place of just wanting everyone to be free, equal and happy. It's just the constant women empowerment that gets tiresome because I truly don't think women have it as hard as men. The whole body image thing happens to everyone. Have you not seen and heard the comments that Henry Cavill gets? He's constantly being sexualised and discredited by women because he's a good looking man rather than his work being respected. No doubt it happens to other guys as well. It's okay for us to see a good looking guy and make comments that would make him uncomfortable but God forbid a guy does it back to us. There's a double standard there. What I do agree with her on though is the disrespect to female song writers. It happens to Taylor especially were it's deemed childish and immature to sing about your love life.
