Jordan Peterson recently posted a video addressing what happens with female vs males going through puberty. Initially females have the advantage, then testosterone arrives and males exponentially develop. It’s fact. Today she is a competitor with the boys, soon the boys will be pursuing her. Socially that transition is very hard for females. Please, please, please put the same amount of time into your studies, as you do your practice. Your analytical, systematic mind will serve you well, develop it!

I don't know but there is more to baseball than play D1, she could be D2 or D3. Her baseball career isn't going to end somewhere in high school. The problem is that once the boys are 16 their growth is exponentially. The girls at 13 growth is exponentially but once they hit 16 and on...they can't catch up anymore. Sorry, its just biology. I'm glad she is enjoying baseball now and continue to chase her dreams of MLB but the truth is that she got zero chance because of biology, maybe if she takes steroids or testosterone to help her growth after 16, she might have a chance to catch the boys.
@LifeOfBuster5 ай бұрын
@@helloman3676 Here is the thing only 7% of boys play college/ university ball. Most never play on a State/ Provincial Team or a National team, 75% don't see a high school roster, and less than 1% will ever see the major leagues yet we actively encourage boys in their pursuits and say maybe one day you will, when we know it's more than likely not happening. Yet it's this big issue when we encourage and let our daughters have that same lofty dream. I have no problems letting a kid have their dream. So far Ashlynn has played on the Ontario Provincial Team, She's been able to travel the USA/ CANADA with an All-Girls travel team, Be invited consistently to play on a boys team in California, and spent her time play AAA Rep Ball with the boys in Ontario Canada. She's also in a high range of being very likely to make the CANADIAN women's national team. There are opportunities for girls she might play NCAA ball of NCJAA baseball in the states, perhaps she lands on a Canadian College's roster. She won't be the first to do so. Let the girl have her dream and do what she can with the sport for as long as she wants and let life happen just like we do with the boys. It's literally no different.

I played high level "BBI"/AAU baseball as a kid. Travel team in the 90s. Two future MLB guys on my team (one of which was a top 3 pitcher in his era). We had a girl on the team at 11-12. A twin sister of one of the guys. She was decent. By 14? She couldn't get CLOSE to making the team. Ended up a D1 Softball player though. Puberty makes 'feel good' stories like this irrelevant. By 15? She's going to be WELL behind the curve. Pun intended. Biology matters.

Coaching perspective, I came up in the 90s and we had a girl who played against we couldn't get a hit off her. She could have probably beat many of us in high school but because of the mindset at the time she was pushed out, not taken series and her talents where not developed. Ashlynn she's coming up 30 years after us ( crazy to say that) and she's provided the change to develop, and be trained for the game and taken serious. She's likely going to be competitive on a post-secondary roster at some school, which who knows.

Which makes the response time needed to even hit it like hitting a 115-120 mph pitch in the MLB. The reaction time is faster in Fastpitch given the shortness of the base paths as well. I think she would have a tough time playing any position in baseball other than pitcher as a full grown woman against full grown men but women aren’t less athletic than men, they are differently athletic. Women’s athletic gifts include better flexibility, on average a smaller/lighter body frame for higher flying gymnastic/acrobatic moves, and in some sports the usage of their better manual dexterity. You see this in gymnastics, cheerleading stunts, and pairs figure skating. We just have a culture that makes sports that showcase male physical attributes such as upper body strength, speed, and height a priority.
