This was a rough one emotionally for anyone who has had to assist one of their best friends to rest. My dog Axle was a Staffordshire terrier. He was the smartest dog I've ever raised. We talked to him like he was human and he understood exactly what we said to him. Helping him leave this world was like losing one of my sons. It's a pain I'll never get over. This author definitely captured that soul crushing emotion, I wept like it was happening again.

Thank you Dr Creepen & Minthiy for this moving story. The sad truth with our best friends, our devoted dogs & our pet companions in toto is their unfortunate short time we are graced by their presence in our lives. You never forget your first & how they truly do let you know when “that time” comes. I cried with Jacob over Toby as I had with my dear Duncan. The events after were unexpected with an ending that was wonderful. Thank you both so much.

Kind of a side note but if you ever wanna train an animal to not pee in the house, you DON'T push their face into it. They can't correlate things like you and I. They don't understand WHY you're doing it, just that the person they love is being physically forceful. You have to catch them in the act and then try to take them to where they're supposed to do it.
@dorothyaebutcher7103
@dorothyaebutcher7103 4 жыл бұрын
That's right. Animals already know how their own pee smells! Rubbing their noses in it is very confusing for them, especially if done roughly or in anger. Just as with humans, it's difficult for them to learn when they're afraid and trying to please someone who seems to them to be behaving irrationally.

That was an amazing story, I listened to it at 5 in the morning, effectively shat myself towards the end (my room was pitch black when I listened). The ending though was my favourite part... so wholesome. Ironically my chihuahua sleeps at the end of my bed, needless to say I petted him a lot. Amazing story, great portrayal Keep up the good work

I am literally at work right now and starting to cry, this is not acceptable. I just hope no one stops by my cubicle during the hour or so until we're all done for the day...

Man this one sounds like it could be really good. I love a good Deep Woods horror story, especially ones set in Connecticut which is very remote and rural.

@@debbieathy5204 That would be Saville Dam in Barkhamsted, its awesome hiking and EPIC in the fall. I'd also recommend Topsmead State Park in Litchfield.
