Yay! Was able to repair one PSU by replacing a bad 18N60M2. Was thrown off by the 1.5V diode reading bc my Fluke reads Pin 8 at 0.816V on a known good.

11:25 to be sure the driver is good can’t you power up the PSU without the MOSFETs and check the gate signals with a oscilloscope?
@ToltecMerc10 ай бұрын
No, I don't believe so. This supplies shutdown very quickly when they detect any kind of problem. I don't believe it will send out gate pulses endlessly without seeing voltage from the feedback circuit.

Hello, is it possible to get rid of the coilwhine under load by putting silicone around the capitators?

Hi @ToltecMerc I have the same power supply that was blown up by a cockroach around the 40N60M2 mosfet and it took some fusible resistors and the ZM diode with it. I replaced the resistors at R7, R88 and the mosfet (still waiting for the ZM diodes to be delivered), and the DAP chip. I have 3 shorted capacitors at C85, C31, and C75. I recently asked you on JoeyDoesTech's stream if they were meant to be shorted and you told me C85 is meant to be 2.72ohms, C31 0.07ohms. I didn't know C75 was shorted at the time so I didn't ask you about it. Anyway. I tested all 3 of these caps out of circuit and they aren't shorted, however their respective solder pads short to eachother. Do you have any idea what it could be? I've probed around so much and just cannot seem to find the cause (keep in mind I am a beginner). I tested the mosfet at Q34 and I think it was reading around 360-430ohms. Somewhere in that range. Any bit of advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. EDIT: Welp. It's not actually shorted. The problem was just me not knowing how to properly operate/read a multimeter 😅 Thank you for your help!

HI, Could you help me identify a couple of components on the FR board please? one is a vener marked VM V1 (ZD39) and another is a diode marked GS5MB (D1) if you have mnuafactures codes that would be so helpful. I have had two supplies blow the R100 resistor (R96) as well as one of these diodes which i havent seen you come across yet
@ToltecMerc10 ай бұрын
ZD39 should be marked ZM. It is a PDZ18B from NXP. GS5MB looks to be a general purpose 1000V, 5A diode. www.jjwdz.com/pdf/zhengliu/GS5AB~GS5MB%E4%BA%A7%E5%93%81%E8%A7%84%E6%A0%BC%E4%B9%A6.pdf
