Jimmy l don’t know if you know lt or not but the jounts on the refrigent units are sodered with silver soder and you are selling it as number two copper the scrap yards are ripping you scrappers off.whenever the copper is smelted the silver is extracted and separated from the copper.same as copper produced before 1919 it has a 10 %of gold in it.

Mate in Melbourne Australia I get $3.50 a kg for clean aluminium radiators & 60 cents a kg for electrical motors & copper clean about $7 a kg

I used to until my yard stopped buying the copper as #2 and down graded to "field windings" which is only $0.80 per lb

@@1320LUV thats not bad.....up here they only giving 10c sealed and 15c motors....so something that big i would take apart no matter what. You should be getting at least 1.75 for $2 for those field wiring, so might be worth in the future looking for another yard that pays better. There is no issue takign some stuff to a yard and the good stuff to another.

I honestly dont have the time to cut them apart anymore with chopsaw. If I needed every cent to pay bills or rent i certainly would
