WORST Luck VS The BEST Attitude

Rocky Mountain Race Week is a notoriously tough challenge, merited by a 1,000 miles+ journey across the midwest in a race car. Typically racers are only armed with a trailer, however these two radical rebels barely showed up with a running car! We could tell from day 1 that this ol’ four-eyed fox was going to be a car we needed to follow throughout the week. While we never want to see racers encounter issues or struggles, these two couldn’t have been happier regardless of what happened along the way. From belts, to plugs, and everything in between, this feature highlights some aspects that nearly all racers face at some point but with and endless supply of smiles per gallon!

@@BMF_Garage all everyone had to do is see every situation from all sides, be the bigger person, smile, compliment and help people when you see they need it and if you can help them. I buy the person behind me a coffee at Starbucks or Dunkin’ at the drive thru every time I go to one of them. And I do it because it’s not expected, it’s surprises people and makes them smile but the mainly I do it because people are not expecting any kind action from people anymore. By me doing all these things I can easily change someone mood for the rest of there day, or week! Just implement patients, smiles, be thoughtful, compliment people, be spontaneous and help anyone if you can in there situation. I challenge myself everyday to make people smile because it makes me feel good and them.

Inspirational! Commendable! At 59 years old, looking back over at least the last 40 years of my life and how so many times so many things would get me pissed off, from not having the "right" line, color, size, artificial lure while fishing on vacation, you know, when I'm supposed to be relaxing, to seeing intolerable flaws in others, especially if that had a negative impact on my work or the result I was working towards. Yeah, even if I "was right" when others were wrong, and doing all of that to myself when I made mistakes....The way you guys faced this adversity is going to be a benchmark I will try to emulate, but will likely fail, but I have an honorable goal at least! Old video but I don’t think the car owner was giving himself enough credit for the potential; that car could definitely be competitive in an 11.0 bracket. Back in the day I ran a bone stock 5.8 (351W) truck motor- stock heads, stock cam, non-ported GT-40 upper/lower intake, 42# injectors, ProM 80mm MAF, Anderson PowerPipe, YSi blower w/ 2.95 blower pulley and stock crank pulley, Longtubes and MAC Prochamber w/ dumps and tuned with SpeedBrain chip tuning I made ~430whp and 450ish TQ only revving to about 5500 RPM. With the right rear gears and some clever shifting that would easily put a Fox chassis Stang into the low 11’s. I never tracked that particular build as it was just a fun daily street car, but my ~500whp 302 HP Nitrous Fox went 10.85 @ almost 3000lb race weight with a WC T-5 and 4:10s so compared to that I would think the power he can make with even a modest blown stock Windsor should be plenty to go well into the lower 11’s if he drove it right.

I love people like this. I’m definitely doing this next year with my 2018 Civic Si! It’s got a stage 1 tune, stage 3 clutch and a prl intake. It’s not about winning of course haha. My first car at 16 was an ‘86 GT 5-speed with 180k and I had it running 14. flat with a cat free exhaust and flowmasters & a cold air intake. A Kevlar clutch & a flexfan too. Simple bolt ons on a high mileage engine running 3/4 of a second faster than new “off the showroom floor” in 1986.
