The funky looking dome head is actually from Gundam X, it is for the G-Bits used by D.O.M.E! So with that you can make another type of G-Bit which is pretty funky.

Overall, the Gunpla may looked plain but one thing I really enjoyed with this kit is the articulation and how fun it is to kitbash with some of the parts from GM Sniper II, HG Custom Build Campaign and Kotobukiya weapons. It’s still in WIP status as of the moment. I’m planning to add more weapons and parts on it.

sp4rrow they both have off shoots, but the GM was much easier to mod and develop variations of than the Zaku 2 that it was already outclassing at it most basic. The Zaku 2 had a few more variants by virtue of having existed a little longer, butalready was on it's way out as the mainstay because of development of the Dom and Gelgoog.

+JamcalX Oh ok so you were talking about the anime version. Sorry I thought you were talking about the actual gunpla, of how customizable you thought the GM was. Most people usually use a zaku or a Rx-78 for their first big painting/customization project because of how simple yet somewhat complex they were.

The head that you don't really like on this kit looks really similar to the head on the Gundam X bits. It could be an alternative to using the head that comes with the HG Northern Pod.

Such a good looking kit!! I have already seen some cool custom paint jobs on them. I found that turning the polycap in the wrist helps to close the arm a little tighter, or you can just fix the inside of the arm and glue it together.

it's actually pretty logical to do that - it saves time on manufacturing, designing and equipping their large enough manpower to deal with the Zeon threat. Not to mention the cost to design, test and then roll out new suits.

Alvin Tay especially since all Zeon does is spend tons of money and resources on shitty experimental MSs and MAs with the only logical one being the Elemeth. Seriously, I would've given it a couple years before Zeon loses the war due to a lack of resources, and that's only if the Zabi's don't kill themselves off first

What do you mean cheap? It has better armour (titanium>steel) than anything Zeon could field, weapons that match or surpass anything Zeon can field (beam> kinetic), and is faster than the RX-78-2.

It'd be interesting to see a couple of GM type IBO Gundams using those spare heads, maybe even a custom GM Zeta, or something. Also, that backpack being able to fit on the back-skirt is super cool, I'll have to do that when I get this kit myself.

Kinda wishing it came with the full arms from the Leopard, but it makes sense since the rest of those pieces are on that kit's Weapon sprues... I do wonder what is up with that square peg on the GM/GM Beam Spray Gun's forward grip, as that Spray Gun was designed to work with the barrel attachments of the GM/GM Weapons set.

4:55 if you were to paint in there it would really bring out mechanical detail. I dropped a little bit of panel line in there just to accent it a little more. Thanks for the tip about Gray panel liner recommendation on light colors. Some people use black on everything and it doesn't turn out very well

Also I cemented the arms together as soon as I put it together and that seemed to fix the problem. Once they are fused together the line is invisible underneath the panel line. I actually really liked how they did the arms this time around as opposed to The DaVinci

zack, have you got a chance to compare Gm/GM's to the 2015 Hguc-Revive Rx-78-2? From your articulation segment 3:00, it shows certain similarities to it and the Gm/GM's (minus the chest movement). i haven't built much Hg's, but you convinced me to pick-up a kit or two.

If they molded the cuff as a separate, single piece that slides on from the end, then they wouldn't be able to properly mold in the scribed line around the cuff. They would have to turn it into a stair-step (like they did with some of the arm details on the HGUC 08th MS Team kits) or leave it out entirely... Or they could slide-mold it, but then it would still be hard to mold that seam correctly on all sides of the part, and they don't usually splurge on slide molds for cheap kits like this

Something you didn't elaborate about that I think is a really cool feature about this kit is the shape of the thighs. I really like the proportions of them. I can't get over how great this thing looks when you get it all panel lined up. I added a manipulator arm from the crossbone Gundam weapon set so he doesn't have to hold his own Shield anymore. It looks a bit more Thunderbolt esque

The seam line in the arm could be a constraint of manufacturing and the machine they're using. It's important to note that not all injection moulding machines are created equal and the machine used for an RG probably isn't the same as the one used for an HG.

Zach, I've been pondering buying an airbrush as of late and I was watching videos on how to clean them. Some people are very intricate and I was curious how well you keep up with airbrush maintenance. For example, do you use an ultrasonic cleaner for yours? Also, you've probably said this before but which airbrush do you use?

The GM/GM looks like a good kit. But, the price is too high for what you get. They should sell it for 1000 jpy (rx-78-2) or 1200 jpy (shiden) instead of 1600 jpy.
