Have to agree here, I consider Peterson and Multipick to be top of the line companies, have always preferred peterson picks.. until I got my hands on the Multipick Elite Super kit! Now, Peterson just simply seems overpriced. Don't get me wrong, I think most of Peterson's items are nice tools, but the stuff from Multipick blows it away in quality, and for a very similar price point, in some cases, cheaper! Thanks for the review Bill, quality work as always!

Nice finish on those Multipicks...makes that Peterson bar look terrible in comparison. Looks like a great set!

I’ve spent this weekends watching, ploughing through actually all your videos. You sir are a master. I’m new to the lock hobby (I’ve collected old and antiques for ages) but until recently found that picking locks instead of Tv is the way to go. Awesome content man. I’m subbed for life. 🇺🇸👍🏻

I thank you Bill ! For your honesty and cander we mere mortals applaud you. Thanks for the heads up as well, I might not be the 3rd man in USA with posession of this TOK set but I should be in the top 50 at least ! Now I need to get back to studying my Lock Lab course.

Nice review!!! I would like to have seen a more complete comparison. Like Sparrows flat 5 or heavy bars. And the price is closer than Petersons. At $10ea was a high price in the beginning and after Sparrows did their line just makes Petersons not necessary anymore. Last heavy bars I got from Sparrows was $5.95 for both .040 & .050 So a comparison between them would be nice to see if Sparrows can keep up with Multpick or fall short like Petersons did. Thanks for the review!!

I've just got into lock sport to train a new skill and use it potentially for a job as a pen tester one day. I have started following your videos after watching LPL. I literally just bought this kit in the uk from ukbumpkeys then I came across your high praise video so I'm glad I made a good investment. Yeah paid £24.99 for the kit and £5 tax. Around £2 for next day delivery. Well worth it for a decent kit though.

Thanks for the comparison. I think I will be buying Multipick products in the future.

The Peterson edge finish at 4:00 is caused by the laser cutting a touch too fast, hence the scalloped edge.

While you compare them to Peterson's tools, they remind me more of Sparrows' sets. If you get their Flat Five + their Heavy Bars, you have the exact same set, I think.
@JeffroDH6 жыл бұрын
Aalbert Torsius I have that exact setup from Sparrows, and I agree. I believe you’re correct. The teeth on the end look a bit nicer, and the Multipick has that nice relief cut behind the teeth. Seems like a small step up to me, but will it really affect my picking? The Peterson product appears to be in 3rd place.
@rdump6 жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same thing. Sparrows' Flat Five (FT5) www.sparrowslockpicks.com/product_p/ft5.htm and Heavy Bars (QHVYBAR) www.sparrowslockpicks.com/product_p/qhvybar.htm taken together match pretty well on widths, shapes. The Multipick set is certainly prettier than any other I've encountered.

I commented on a video earlier about being new to locking picking I am using it as a rehabilitation therapy. About 9 months ago I was rushed to the hospital in respiratory failure and in a comma. They told my wife and daughter I would not make it and make arrangements. After the fourth day in the comma they said I might live but would have brain damage without going into everything I came out of the comma about in 10 days. I only have some memory issues and hand eye issues and this is where lock picking comes in it helps stimulate the brain because of the strategy and puzzle effect it also really helps with the hand eye coordination and the feed back I get from my hands to the brain. My question is there a style or model of picks you think that gives you a better feel. Who knows maybe locking picking will be come a recognized physical therapy my doctor thinks it may help. Again thank you for posting you are helping people more than you think.

Placed my order before even finishing your video. These look amazing for the price. Been wanting to try top of keyway tension, just couldn't bring myself to spend $10 on a single bar from Peterson. Now to wait for international shipping...

Just my 1/50th of a dollar here, I've always considered Peterson products to be overpriced. I could never justify purchasing their picks or wrenches, but i did cave in and by a couple of their bypass tools. And those performed only moderately. Not terribly impressed with price vs value.
@DonzLockz6 жыл бұрын
I have Paterson & Sparrows. I like Peterson but agree, IMHO Ken is simply a crook. He skips on stuff like shown here and charges way too much. He even skimps on his dodgy 90's website and marketing as well as merchandise or lack of it. He sells blanks to maximise profit, in it to line his pockets only.... my rant is over now. Lol
@trapperjohn75716 жыл бұрын
I think they cost more because of "government steel" (which is probably something like 420 stainless). Not saying it's worth it, because I don't think it is, but I don't think Peterson is just ramping up the price to make more money. That being said, I don't have any of their stuff, so I can't say for sure

Anyone want to buy this kit I will sell for discount via paypal (it's like brand new, just got it a week ago). I just can't stand TOK tension, the wrenches keep falling out, I have no idea how these people keep them in the keyway when you're working. That said, I do not do SPP, I only do raking and jiggling, so maybe that's why... Reply if you're interested in buying.

Damn I am impressed with the price and the apparent quality. You sure can't make them for that price. The rough ones maybe.
