So far I have loved everything you have done in your videos. I have so many molds ( going mouldy- just kidding) that I NEED to try this technique. I have tried to watch every video that I see listed that you have made, and I keep finding new ones. I just realized that I had not pressed the little bell, and that is why I have not been getting notices about new videos Keep up the excellent work!.

This is beautiful! I have a real issue with using white alcohol inks. They automatically sink right to the bottom of the mold ruining the entire piece because they don't set. Can I thin them out with a bit of alcohol?
@karenpresley71015 жыл бұрын
I'm happy to hear you're feeling better. I love the colors you used. Do you have to use the white with it being so thin? XXX 💖💖💖
@MyriamsNature5 жыл бұрын
Thank you Karen. 😊💕 Without the white the colored inks just sit on top of the resin, look very transparent, and eventually contract a bit. No real texture can develop either because the colored inks dissolve into the resin (they are dye based). The white is pigment based, opaque, and comparatively heavy. It absorbs the colors and then creates various textures as it “breaks up” and sinks into the resin. I hope that helped explain a bit. 😘😘

Thank you for your beautiful works! It's a great tutorial and already learned much. I have a question. How do you prevent white drops getting to the surface? I am doing little objects and the white almost every time gets to through. I would be very grateful for your help. Does it ever depend on the type of epoxy resin I am using?

Love it. I hope to be brave enough to try this. Question: Have you ever used the resin with the drops for the hardener? My hubby accidentally bought me some and the instructions are so confusing there. I haven't tried it yet. I'm the type of a person if I am going to bungee jump off a bridge I got to know a few things. Like, the temp of the water, how much will the cord hold and stretch and how fast is the wind blowing lol...think it is a Virgo thing. toodles debs from Texas

So glad you’re feeling better!! Do you know if there’s a coaster mold that doesn’t have that sharp edge on the back side? Not a fan of sanding and top coating. Thanks
@MyriamsNature5 жыл бұрын
Hi Gabriella! Thank you for the kind words 😊. The sharp edge (or “lip”) will happen no matter what mold you use... unless you fill it to the absolute tippy top (so that literally one more drop wouldn’t fit) That is the only way to guarantee a “lip-free” surface. The reason for this is that resin creeps up the sides of any mold ever so slightly (like water does in a glass... capillary action.) Filling most molds to the very top uses way more resin than is necessary for a coaster however so I don’t do it... topcoating a thinner piece uses a lot less. Another issue with filling the mold to the very top is that the “work surface” of a petri (i.e. the side on which you did all the ink dropping) is often not smooth or rock hard. So, if you fill to the top, you might STILL have to topcoat depending on how the ink behaved, and how much you used. I hope this information helps a bit. 😊💕
@racoonsister5 жыл бұрын
you inspired me to go out and buy the inks, I ordered the resin and some molds, glad you are feeling better. I still want you to have the Cricut, so I am checking the cheapest shipping methods and want to send it to you for free, let me know if you want it,, before I jump the gun and ship it!
