It's so rare for them Dagis to speak about their family life and I'm somewhat glad they chose to handle their life that way. At 19:46 Islam got that same look when he was asked on a recent interview in Russian (english sub) what more he wishes for on a personal level. He repeated question to himself, stopped & looked away to think of an answer and replied w/ that same pride in his eyes and smiling from ear to ear. He said he don't even know what to ask for anymore because he already has everything he wants. He just think he needs to preserve everything he got right now and stay the same.. continue helping everyone around him (family, friends, team etc.) Congrats to him and fam. Thank you DJ. Hope you continue to give spotlight to other combat fighters from different backgrounds, disciplines and cultures. From Death Sentence to Islam and everyone in between and beyond.

I’m a woman who doesn’t do any kind of MMA fighting lol, but I really look up to Islam and try to be more like him in terms of his discipline, manners, and devotion to Islam. It’s a little bittersweet though to see his English improving so rapidly lol. May Allah protect him and grant him success in this life and the next. Also, the more I watch the more I understand why the people in Dagestan respect DJ so much. He’s also a very humble, likable champ. There’s something so refreshing about authentic conversations.
