136. Cocoa Butter Body Bar - SOUNDsculptures - ASMR

I come back to this video every few months or so. It's a unique set of asmr sounds. Not in the way that they're original, but they are unique by virtue of how your microphone picks them up. There's also a fluctuating white noise as you make sounds and that's something that becomes less common as modern ASMRtists use higher quality mic's. It's a subtle detail of ASMR that has a huge effect on me. I hope this video never gets removed.

I am suffering from a cold and watching this video relaxed my sinuses so much that I could breathe through my nose after 30 seconds. Then the video knocked me out completely--totally comatose in about 3 minutes. I had to wake up from a nap and watch it a second time to see the whole process. i think the bottom could've heated up faster versus the rest of the jar, possibly burning the contents there.

Yep, Tim is right! Really you should use a Bain-Marie technique (bowl over water but not sitting directly in... heat arrives through stream) but this is a quicker and easier way for most people to replicate if they want to. Also, it's good to make this in something like an old jam jar because cleaning equipment that has had melted beeswax in it can be difficult. Thank you for watching!

Do you think you'd ever do a video with more of that beeswax? The sounds it makes are magical. Just merely picking it up and putting it down on that cutting board sounds amazing, then the added sounds of the grater and the beeswax shavings makes it all the more enjoyable. Hands down my favorite part of the video lol.

Hello! I have to agree with you, the beeswax is just so tactile, and it smells so good too, it was quite tempting to just bite it! I'm really glad you liked it. I haven't got any other beeswax videos planned right now, but that could definitely change in the future! If I do, I'll let you know! :)

And do you use them in or right after a shower, or just anytime? not only were the sounds incredible, but I've been looking for a simple homemade gift idea for some family and this is PERFECT! +Haley Lister Hi Haley! Many thanks for such nice words. I think the melting factor will largely depend on room temperature/climate. You only have to hold these for a few seconds for the oils to transfer readily into a warm hand. They seemed to be fine for me out of the fridge, but depends how much resistance to warm skin you want it. I assume it might be a more satisfying experience to use a cold, solid bar. It's really trial and error though! Hope these turn out well for you! Helen

This is such a cute idea! I wonder if you dipped the chicks' feet in melted beeswax before positioning them and then let it dry if they would stay upright in the package. Fantastic sounds. Thanks for sharing!

I did consider doing that or even just waiting for the bar to almost set but not quite, and then positioning the chicks on top and freeze for the remainder of the time, but then I thought it wouldn't be such a nice experience to use the bar after they were removed! It would take a while for the surface to smooth down again because you really need so little of this to go a long way! Thank you for watching, and commenting.
