In August of 2017, Bugatti, using the 1500 hp Bugatti Chiron driven by race car driver Juan Pablo Montoya set a world record for the 0km/h to 400km/h (249mph) and back to 0km/h (0-400-0)
feat.

Bugatti is almost 50% heavier than Koenigsegg. According to wiki, Chiron's curb weight is 1,996 kg whereas Agera RS' is 1,395. With higher power to weight ratio its only logical that Koenigsegg trumps Chiron in this challenge. Both cars are prime examples of state of the art engineering.

Wish i was a deep thinker like you mate. Lets do some basic math; Koenigsegg is 1395 kgs, Chiron weighs in at 1995. If i make a claim that Chiron weights 50% more than Koenigsegg, then Chiron must weigh 1.5 times as much. If you multiply 1395 by 1.5, then Chiron must weigh 2092 kgs. In reality, Chiron at 1996 kg, is 43% heavier than Koenigsegg, because it is what you get if you devide 1995 by 1396. Yes, i rounded 43% to 50%. My bad. On the flip side, Koenigsegg weighs 70% percent of what Chiron does. because 1396 is roughly 70% of 1995. Class over, you are dismissed son.

It was indeed another Chiron. But unlike many say. "The only other car fast enough to film Chiron's 0-400-0 run, is another Chiron obviously!"... is wrong. It could have been a Koenigsegg, but that would've made filming harder, since on full throttle, the Egg will just outrun the chiron. So you would have to manage it perfectly. Other options are ofc Supra, GT-R Nismo, and other sleeper cars.

My main take away is that the guy driving the Chiron was wearing business casual and looked calm as a cucumber and the guy in the Agera was in a fireproof racing suit and a helmet. Now all of us would probably rather have a white knuckle drive the Agera but The Bugatti is a beast and a comfy luxury car to boot and the amount of engineering that went into making that possible is freaking insane.

I think the difference between the 2 cars is shown in the test drivers and the video. Bugatti: test driver is all dressed up no safety equipment. Luxurious experience l, looks fancy. Koenigsegg: rest driver is in a race suit with a helmet. Race car style, with a serious attitude. Video Bugatti: very chopped up and edited video showing multiple different camera angles at impossible speeds for a camera car to be at. Koenigsegg: montage of suiting up and prep. Video of inside showing the entire run with computer data on screen. Bugatti is a company about luxury and apparently going fast. Koenigsegg is a company about performance and trying for the best while also being a bit luxurious. Bugatti is a company ran by VW. Koenigsegg doesn’t have a major car manufacturer backing them. The underdog is Koenigsegg and they play by the rules. They show the evidence and follow the rules for official top speed runs. Bugatti however doesn’t show everything. They glorify what they do without making it official. They never did an official top speed test by the rules so basically there 304mph run doesn’t count. It’s cool, but it really just seems like branding. Like here’s a “300mph” car, yet when you buy it it has a “limiter” similar to the top speed of previous models.

Big Koenigsegg fan myself but when you see the inside of the cars the Chiron is a luxury car that does this speed and brakes this way and the Agera RS is a race car with some creature comforts added to make it a road car. If you had to drive one as a daily driver you'd have the Chiron, in a race you'd have the Agera.

The koenigsegg is lightening quick but the chiron is a car quite capable of being used daily and on motorways and for the 10 minute trip to the shop. It's like comparing the Aston Martin Vulcan and a Rolls Royce Wraith. They're bot quick, they're both designed to within an inch of their life, theyre both the peak of engineering, but you're gonna want the wraith for a daily.
