Professionally polished, fully sorted and tough as Clint Eastwood in a Spaghetti Western, this 1968 Power Wagon is one of the most legendary trucks ever created! The beneficiary of a professional, body-off restoration, this 1968 WM300 is a final-year Power Wagon that’s dressed and ready to cruise! During that freshening, the truck’s solid body was sealed in a dashing combination of orange and black 2-stage. And, in a world where ‘Mall Crawlers’ and an ever-escalating truck war has inspired a rash of lift kits and Medium Duty pickup conversions, all it takes is one glance at this beast to be enlightened to the rugged authenticity that spawned the movement. Fold the hood and you’ll find 251 cubic inches of trusty Chrysler 6-cylinder that appears to have been fully rebuilt during the recent restoration. Power meets the pavement through a reliable 4-speed transmission, which rides between sturdy Chrysler axles. That drivetrain rolls on a factory frame, which stretches Emerald Green paint over factory springs and heavy-duty shocks. Naturally, that frame is guided by manual steering, and stopped by manual drum brakes. And at the corners of the floor, painted Split-Rim Wheels twist 10.50-16 directional 8-plys around premium Selectro hubs. When you pop this pickup’s doors, you’ll find a crisp vinyl cockpit that’s full of utilitarian charm. A wide bench seat complements small door panels, a tight headliner and contoured cab panels. A body-matched dash hangs fully rebuilt telemetry next to passenger padding. And the driver feels the road through a large steering wheel, a big shifter for the 4-speed and a small shifter for the 4-wheel drive. There’s no arguing the swagger and individuality of a first-generation Power Wagon. Well-built and tough enough to tackle any task, this Dodge is a cool hobby vehicle that’s also a lot of fun! That’s one cool looking vehicle! Nice restoration. For some reason, I really don’t remember those back in the 60s and 70s.

You have the wrong audio with this video. That is a late 40s pw if I had to guess the exact year .. I would say 1947. Nice work though 👏

That DODGE 251 Flat Head 6 SOUND is UNMISTAKABLE !!!!! Nothing Compares to It …. : ) That Truck IS a 1968 ! Trust Me !! I HAVE ONE in RED and BLACK The body and cabs of Dodge power wagons did not change Much from 1946 to 1968 Basically they look Identical but for a very FEW minor changes in the Bed . That restored Truck's value is about 30 K IF you have 150 K you can buy a Legacy Power Wagon ! Diesel Powered ! haha

That truck is very nicely done! NOT way over the top like these $250,000 ones they are producing today to only serve sports stars.

Honestly, the power wagon isn't an exceptional truck. Most restomods upgrade the engine and transmission anyway. Too big to run on gas affordably. But what sets it apart is the cabin. Vintage car geometry like you used to get in the thirties. Long narrow hood and engine bay that excentuates the width of a fairly modest wheelbase. The chevy 1 ton from the 30s is a pretty good looking too. They'd make great offroad campers and, if styled tastefully, can be driven through the city without looking underdressed. Imagine an suv today that looked like the Ford model AA or the 1 ton from the 30s but had modern interior components, features, and engine (power steering, 6 speed trans, fuel injection ect). What's so hard about doing this? Is it the breaking system?

A friend drove one when he worked in the Saudi oil fields in the 1970s, it was a 1963 model and top speed was just over 40mph! never got stuck or broke down though!!!!

Those critical or disdainful of the 50 MPH top speed miss the point entirely. The Chrysler flat head six - optimized for reliability, simplicity, honesty, and based on conservative engineering principles. The same company was famous for high-compression hemi-head V-8's - but this isn't one of them and doesn't try to be..

kitchenengineer 1968 was the last year they made these it was hardly changed since the 40s obviously. One thing that surprises me is the fact that it still has a flat head engine.
