I am so glad I found your sight , I have a big parastomal hernia and you answered a lot of questions I was scared of . My general surgeon who I have been seeing for the past 7 years because of colorectal cancer , he won’t do my surgery because of all the problems I may get after surgery. so I had to travel to another doctor and he will do it . This will be my 5th surgery since 2016 . So hopefully everything will go good . I also have a hiatal hernia that will be fix in a year from now .

Absolutely not. Mesh implant illness is more likely among those with autoimmune disorders but still is a low chance overall.

I just started searching seeing what can go wrong ,pushing hernia backing every two hrs with wearing a belt seems that it's better not to have surgery.confused it's sad to think taking 4hrs at times to push it back in drinking alot of water and swallowing air seem to help to push it back in

@Dr. Shirin Towfigh, are you thinking that the tissue repairs of the past (the ones you have mentioned didn't work from the 50's 60's) might be different than the Desarda, and that it _could_ be an approach that is superior to those older approaches that had high recurrence?

Not sure. Desarda seems to have a limited application and is not superior to any established technique.

Depends on many patient factors and the surgeon. Some do offer tissue repair to scrotal hernias. I do not.

What are the best labs/immunology blood tests to check for possible reactions to the mesh? Besides the typical esr/Crp? Is there any you recommend?

Have you ever seen someone with mesh implant Illness symptoms improve if they are started on prednisone. Could this be kind of a way to see if symptoms improve on prednisone it could be caused by the mesh.
