It did not work for my package. And the video does not show the actual creation of the connection manager. The connection manager had been created before it was shown on vide. The author only shows how to make an existing connection manager to be dynamic, but did not show the creation from scratch.

Why to use dynamic connection manager and not run the package again.

If you are using dynamic connection manager for flat file or excel file, then it helps you to import any flat file or excel file and you can pass the file name using a variable. If you make dynamic connection manager for SQL Server (OLE DB), then after the deployment to SSIS catalog, or at the time of scheduling the ssis package, you can pass any server name or database name and your ssis package will run against that server\database. Thus without actually modifying the ssis package you can run it for another server. This is useful if you test the package on test server and then deploy the same package to production server and just change the parameter without actually modifying the original ssis package.
