13lb Springer caught on the fly | Dochfour | salmon fishing Scotland 2024 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Another one for the Ghillie! A quick flick through the upper beat when the chores were done, after the anglers couldn't make it.
River was steady around minus 3" on our own gauge, located on the upper beat. Water temperature was 9 degrees and the air temperature was 16 degrees.
You can see my cast of flies in the introduction, my bottle tube had a Loop size 6 single hook inserted in it (my preference for tubes) and my little plastic tube dropper had a Loop size 8 single inserted in it. Both flies were fished off a ten foot slow sinking (brown) polytip, on a cast of 15lb maxima ultra green.

Nice one, love a fishing dropper except where there are loads of weeds etc. Have to say it makes me more confident when fishing... best sea-trout catches come with this approach, using a wee figure 8 retrieve.🎣🤗
