Hey Andie so a couple blocks from my house, there is a German bakery. At this bakery there is a beautiful koi pond, where I sit daily and watch the flow of the fish. Well all the koi always come to where I am sitting, they are very elegant in their movement. So there is a turtle, this is a shy little turtle. This turtle always scatters away when I come. Yet slowly over time this little guy or gal, comes closer and closer. This turtle comes to where I am sitting just below the surface of the water. I feel I am winning its trust slowly. Hey Andie, I really hope you read this because it is so important to me that you see this so you know how much you truly helped. growing up my mother controlled my every decision and i was forced to become a version of myself that wasn't fitting right. she controlled everything to the point where my thoughts and ideas felt as if they were my own. as an only child, it was hard. she did it with love, she wanted what was best for me... she just didnt realize how damaging it was for my growth. after my father passed away last year, i had enough of her literally controlling what i wear, think, act, even what i was majoring in college. i stood up to her like two months ago and she shut down. it really hit her what she did do. she would always tell me "you wont be able to do this because i know you and you wont change." BUT, i did change. i did a lot of shadow work and worked so hard to be in the mindset that i am now. i could've easily chosen to allow myself to continue to be under my moms influence, but i chose to "disrespect" HER decisions for me... i'm hispanic so respecting your parents and going against them is probably jail time worthy in hispanic parents eyes. but i stood up to myself, and im actually happy now? it feels weird. My mom was always convinced that I was going to be depressed my whole life since I was diagnosed with chronic depression. But the shadow work I did, I realize that I am extremely strong after all the trauma I went through, from being SA'd from 5-7 by a pastor, to bullying, and my mom was one of my biggest bullies lol.... all i that went through when I was a child, after living with my mom for 25 years after losing my father, who was my best friend, I realize how strong I am and I took control of my life for the first time. And now I look in the mirror and I'm like: "you're so beautiful" and that's something I would've never said two months ago to myself. This reading did resonate with me a lot, and I know that I am on the right path because I feel at peace finally. there's still more work. I have to do on myself, but I am so proud of myself for how far I've come in such a short amount of time. My mom still doesn't believe me that I've changed, but that's on her. I decided that she's not going to influence my thoughts anymore and whatever she says is not gonna dictate how the rest of my day is gonna be like. And there is a certain someone that we decided to separate and I know what is true, this is just confirmation that my intuition is right. I am actually in tears right now. Also, Andie...
