It is so weird to hear everything in English. I saw the musical in Dutch a hundred times! It surprises me to see how much people from Belgium also played in the English version. Like Albert, Bert Verbeke also played him in Belgium. In the second production someone else played his role because he was busy in England. But there are so much bit-players that did the second production I also see in this video. It's weird to hear the songs in a different language, but I like it! You may think I talk a lot but I'm just so overwhelmed. I really love it!

Do you know whether there is a dvd available of the English show? I know the Dutch version is available, I was just wondering about the English one.

Amazing to see in English. Though I feel the first song is a bit weak. I saw the dutch version and that moment at 7.43 still slays me. IT was so powerful to see

+Luna Daaé Peter Van De Velde, who played the sergeant in the Dutch speaking production, absolutely slayed that song though. He has a very strong voice and was very aggressive as the sergeant.

+Point One I know I saw it ;) He has a knack for playing bad guys, schmidt in Daens, the sergeant in 14-18. He's one of the best singers studio 100 has.

Yeah and Bill Sykes in Oliver as well. For a moment during 14-18 I thought he was gonna rape Celine like he did with Nette in Daens. He can look so menacing. I didn't really expect that from Piet Piraat :D

Very good musical still this wouldn't have been produced without : "Soldaat van Oranje" Soldier of Orange the musical, currently in its 5 th year in Katwijk, Netherlands Studio 100 is making money in watching/analising what is a hit and takes that idea/concept and makes it its own. Should you admire that ? My cynical answer would be no ;)

ripperzipp2r De verhalen zijn enorm verschillend, en oké bij Soldaat van Oranje is de zaal gebouwd op een draaischijf. Maar dat wordt over heel de wereld gedaan, dan kan je evengoed zeggen dat alle musical's kopie zijn van de eerste die er ooit gemaakt is. En 14-18 heeft een hele andere feeling, en naar wat ik heb gehoord is het ook geavanceerder dan Soldaat van Oranje.

ripperzipp2r Studio 100 is the first who did this. It's nothing like "Soldaat van Oranje" it's an whole other story. Maybe Frank van Laecke saw it and maybe he took some things out of it but still, it's an whole different story (sorry for mistakes, I was never teached English)

+ripperzipp2r Soldaat van Oranje heeft inderdaad het concept van de bewegende tribune opgebracht, maar een enorm verschillend verhaal. Waar dit gaat over WOI en de loopgravenoorlog (desondanks dat de loopgraven maar een klein element in de musical zijn), gaat Soldaat van Oranje weer over het verzet in Nederland, collaboratie en zulke zaken. De opvolger van '14-'18 gaat waarschijnlijk wel wat meer lijken op Soldaat van Oranje, maar toch gaan er verschillen zijn in het verhaal. Of er technieken gaan overgenomen worden: Waarschijnlijk wel ja. Maar dan heeft iedere musical wel iets van de andere overgenomen. Dan zou '14-'18 bij voorbeeld ook bewegende onderdelen overgenomen kunnen hebben van Les Misérables, gebruik van voertuigen uit de Sound of Music, etc.
