Whatever instrument they use at 1:00...it sounds like an animal screeching but also like metal being scratched...and I love it. Particularly because of the screech similarity because you first hear this in Hell. So it makes sense. First time I heard it I thought there was someone suffering in the background and it just added to the sense of urgency because I could be next. Music has always been very important to me, but honestly, battle music in games doesn’t usually do it for me, even on my very favorite game soundtracks, but this theme was breathtaking. It’s terrifying and stirring. I got to the first “boss” fight on the Nautiloid and heard this and was like “stop everything! I have to listen!!” Then I just wanted to make it out alive! Hearing “Twisted Force” start growling on the speakers really ramps the tension up. Honestly, there are some tracks on the BG3 OST that absolutely bring down the house for me, and it started with that title screen with the shocking drums and chanting. What an achievement this game is for everyone involved!
