If you'd like to support my camera work so I can continue timelapse (this piece used up almost half of my D750 Shutter Life. Rain and camera also don't get along) please check out my patreon:

Two weeks of non-stop shooting, 1600GB - 62,000 of raw image files along with 500GB of rendered video files to combine into this piece.
After transiting Panama Canal, our ship cross the Caribbean Sea into Atlantic Ocean and arrive at New York, Savannah then Charleston. The timelapse was taken over span of 15 days, some less interesting parts were speed up or faded out (cargo work, daylight hours with no clouds). Most night shots were done on 25 second shutter speed at 30 seconds interval, with port arrivals and departures at 4~8s interval.
note The time-lapse was presented different than actual port rotation, its narrative was not linear. I purposefully reshuffled Charleston before New York because it'd be anti-climatic to start the timelapse with dark moody rainy day arriving at New York.

You read all the comments so here’s your video’s impact. I work in Neurology, I have to perform noninvasive testing on children (Electroencephalograms). These exams are painless but many people and children are still very frightened. I have a short list of videos I play for people to help them relax and yours are becoming a favorite. I have two patients who have had repeated testing that ask to watch the boat captain while I prepare them for an exam. Thank you.

As a kid growing up on a farm one of the countless cool things of the lifestyle was seeing the night sky>!! In the 1970's there was major explosion of high powered security lights for farms. Not only was their power so much more bright but they stayed on all night. Before that, "yard" lights were a big incandescent bulb operated by a manual switch. After that time period the details of the night sky were much less clear. After moving to a city....forget it. However, I don't recall the sky as clear as that over the ocean, that's really remarkable and cool off the charts>!!

Did you see anything actually interesting happening there? If so, then anything you’d find interesting after seeing it for a few years? Sky and ocean. I have worked at sea, it really sucks to be honest. This is a beautiful 10 minutes of 2 really boring weeks irl.

I love these timelapses you make! I have a couple of suggestions: 1. I think the parts that you speed up much faster than the rest should not be that fast, personally the length of the video is worth the beautiful photography that it provides. 2. Maby having a way to visualize a map and where you are would be cool, just make sure its small and not the main focus. maybe a dark theme map :) I hope this channel keeps growing for you, its what so many people wanted!

This may be the single most visually spectacular KZbin video I have ever seen. I am a sucker for a good time-lapse and have made several of my own, but you have set the bar SOOOOOOOO high that I am no longer worthy ;-). The sheer magnitude of the project blows my mind. This is not like setting up a GoPro in hope of catching a nice Cozumel sunset, this is BIG DATA. Truly impressive. Thank you for sharing.

A long time ago, I was in the middle of Nebraska and that is what it looked like. My friend had to explain that it was normal, because I had never seen it before. If you live near a city, the light pollution blocks 90% of the stars. If you are in a big city like New York or London is nearly all blocked.
