Sir, this is called as Heinz's Dilemma. Ramlal though did a seemingly immoral thing by stealing but the purpose was to save a life. Islamic principles say that saving a life is same as saving the entire humankind. Ramlal should go back to the pharmacist later and explain his situation and how he took that decision out of love and compulsion. As we are not aware of pharmacist's life situation, if possible, Ramlal should try to make up for the loss of pharmacist in short or long term. Ramlal can seek help from civil society, government, CSR initiatives to make up for the loss of Pharmacist.

What Ramnath had done is legally wrong bcoz he broke the accepted social and legal norms of the country . Sir it's a debate about means vs ends . The end is right ( Caring for your loved ones ) But the means is not right ( stealing) While it can be justified by teleology but it is unjustified by deontology as stealing can never be justified. Moreover stealing will cause a slippery slope . I would follow the Gandhian philosophy:- If the means is right , the end itself will be right. So the stealing by ramnath will be wrong , even if his intention is right.

Ramnath can utilise the government schemes such as jan arogya yojana their upto 5 lakh govt provide , for concession medicine he can use janaushadi kendra . Shopkeeper also invested in that medicine so it is wrong although his intentions are right . He may habitually follow this for his benefits .
