Good afternoon Charley, my name is Terrell. I live les than half an hour from what was the original WatchTower site in Dumbo, Brooklyn (I live in Bedford-Stuyvesant aka Bed-Stuy). The building is still abandoned (it was renovated before and during the pandemic), but still not being used. I used to study with the witnesses. I was baptized back in 2007. I have relatives that still study. The reason I stopped studying was a few reasons. I won't list all of them. 1) The new translation of the new world translation. 2) Me being laughed at when I bought up aliens and ufo's, both which do exist. I believe in angels, and aliens. 3) I was laughed at by some when it came to my love for art and poetry. I do energy healing through art, poetry and theatrics (a person doesn't need a background in art or theater to do art theatric meditation) I realized I wasn't going to get answers I'm looking for, and I decided to separate from religion. I believe in the bible, but not religion. I would love to have a conversation with you one day. Please feel better. Sincerely, Terrell

Thank u I just found the video very enlightening it was him talking I guess over the years someone was filming him and he talked alot about his beliefs, anyway just want to say love u and your kids I'm sure I'm not the only one as you well know, but iwill leave you with one last thought-iits not wrong to question why God does something as long as we are sincere many bible writers or servants questioned his actions like job, Habakkuk questioned why you let the wicked prosper ,Abraham lot and many others questioned his action even jesus did not fully understand everything his father asked him to do but he said your will be done,so he had their questions written to help us to see we will have questions but like a child we did not make ourselves and we know our parents have our best interests at heart and we trust answers will come later everything in the universe and earth works perfectly its only us humans who are acting out of balance and that shows we need help- love you

Hi Charley, hope you’re well. Another good video. I’m glad you said you understand them and you understand because you’ve been there. Some people allow their ‘zeal’ to get the better of them and proceed to disrespect boundaries which then leads to reactive abuse or even drives people away further from them. No religion should be forced on anyone. Neither should people be manipulated into a belief system using fear and control. I see these all the time from some of us who identify as Christians and this is highly unnecessary.

Hello Charley, Seems like the JW will not take no for an answer. They are well trained to con the public. No one or organization should forced religion like that. That is unbelievable ❤❤❤

I just came across a video to that punched up on you tube I think you might be interested its called why Michael Jackson left the witnesses I hope u punch it up its very good it shows Michael was very devout witness and he loved the video shows him telling in his own words he loved reading the Bible loved going to meetings loved the ministry although he disguised himself, he actually was a witness till his late 20"s so way past time for his mother to control him because we know his mother and oldest sister have always been faithful witnesses, so it began to change when he did the Billie jean video seen when he was in bed with woman he is not married to, he was given counsel by his elders and later he was given counsel about the way he danced, then the thriller video he was given stronger counsel saying it was demonic they did not disfelloship him because he wrote a disclaimer, then he did a video shooting a gun and this time the organization got involved above the local elders and told him he had to make a choice jehovah or music industry and he choose to disassociate he wasnot disfellowshiped, now here is my take that was1987 if you follow his life from that point it became crazy more crazy and strange to the day he died the way he looked the way he acted and he never seemed happy always trouble and no true friends its something to think about as a disfellowshiped witness working hard to get back something I recently had to think about the bible says it's God's spirit or power that guids us gives us fruitages like love joy Peace but he only gives it if we want it pray for it so if we leave him or don't want it he will not give it, anyway Mike's life after leaving spiralded out of control and I believe that was the reason ,anyway I hope you see the video and you will hear Michael say out of his own mouth how happy he was being a witness he actually never spoke badly about being a witness as some claim he did, if you can't find the video let me know I can send it too you it is great it shows him doing witness things his entire life until 1987

Why would she be interested? This is the problem she was literally trying to explain in a whole 11 minutes video and you’re doing the exact same thing she was talking about.
@AbenaK-K Жыл бұрын
This is why people are getting fed up with some Christians and people who are are part of personality cults associated with Christianity. No understanding of boundaries, no proper sense of reality and juvenile manipulative tactics.
@AbenaK-K Жыл бұрын
Do you honestly think she’s not going to detect how you’re trying to manipulate her into joining JW again by sending her to watch a video most probably produced by someone in the org or has some biases towards JW, that scares people who have dissociated themselves from the cult into believing that they’re going down the destructive path because they’ve left? Look here, many people have left that cult and other cults and have gone to live very normal uneventful lives. MJ is a very extreme example and far less ex cult members end up like him. MJ, it has been alleged, was exposed to all kinds of vices as a youngster whilst he was under his parents roof and still in the cult thanks to those same parents exposing him to show business. So stop with the nonsense.
@AbenaK-K Жыл бұрын
One last thing to add to my point, MJ isn’t the only famous person who disassociated from JW, there are many who have left and are living their normal celebrity lives, some are even in MJ’s own family. Why aren’t you directing her to go check on how their lives have been since they left? This manipulative behaviour leads to people to question your motives more than it encourages them to show interest in what you want them to see.

Watch the video first, the person who spoke badly of Michael Jackson's life while he was a witness before you speak badly that is all I ask but of course we are all entitled to our opinion but to be fair watch the video hear what he said out of his own mouth
@AbenaK-K Жыл бұрын
Chaley can I ask a question please? What is this shunning based on, as where do they get from! I also grew up in a cult but even after I left, they still share greetings and some are even friendly with me but with JWs, they completely cut the person who has left off, unless of course they want something or they’re want to manipulate them back into the cult. That shunning behaviour doesn’t make any sense. I want to know where they got it from.
@charleysjourney Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question Abena, the shunning practice is based on a scripture in 1 Corinthians 5:9-11 that talks about not associating or even eating a meal with anyone who is a sinner (immoral, drunkard, greedy etc)
@AbenaK-K Жыл бұрын
@@charleysjourney oh I see! Well if this is the rational for shunning, then clearly it’s being used inappropriately because I have examples of exJWs who are most definitely not living the life described in that verse but are still shunned. Anyway, since your channel is not for Bible discussions, I won’t go into this. Very much appreciate your response.
@charleysjourney Жыл бұрын
@@AbenaK-K Thank you for your comment, and I also knew good people who have been the victims of shunning too. I’m thinking of doing a video on this subject in a bit more depth
