14 minutes ago Hi i have heard on a vidéo by a consultant saying that when you colored your hair before the installation, the locking process is way slower and not uniformed so now i hesitate what is your consultant thought about it please? Does you colored hair requires spécial product with the color? Did it dry your hair ? Was the color applied only on the top of your head? Was it décoloration? Or color with no décoloration ? My consultant express an concern. I had some balayage highlights put in by a specialist. She was careful not to over process my hair while bleaching and I maintained my natural curl pattern. Therefore I did not have any issues with them locking and my locs are very uniformed. I think if you have a colorist who is not well trained and your hair textured is changed a great deal it can cause issues with your locs regardless of when you color. Ive seen people ruin the look of her locs 5 years in because they decided to color.

Thank you! Not sure of the color because she used several different tones. She did Balyage highlights in various brown and honey tones.
