For all those people who ask how are you supposed to know about the one-way ticket, I will explain. So, the riddle tells us that they contacted the travel agency and then realised it was the wife's doing. That indicates that it was something related to the booking of the tickets. As the wife must have made plans to push her husband off, she certainly did not need to purchase a ticket for his return. Hence, they found out as she booked a one-way ticket and no return ticket for him. I hope this helps :)
