It’s the final stage to complete the 3rd and final bed in Backyard Abundance!
This is video 14 of 33 in the Playlist Series.
The thumbnail shows the magic of advance lay out where your furrows for seeds and locations for starts will be. This allows you to visualize the spacing and start to imagine what the garden will become as everything starts to flourish from your thoughtful efforts :)
The advance layout also enables you to consider lighting and shading. The tatsoi and the lettuce will be happy with some shade, the tall greens (like sprouting broccoli & cabbage) will provide the shade and each of the herb starts (all of which can be propagated by YOU) are situated at a dripper on the drip line.
To promote germination the soil, and newly planted seeds are moistened and covered by coffee sacks.
From here on it will get more exciting as plants take off and harvesting starts soon!

How/when did you add your lime, ie., in the hole at planting time, or to the bed ahead of planting? Will it burn the plants. Very timely video as I am planting mine this weekend so handy to know. My soil is 6.5 ph (about)

Hi Leep - great questions. It sounds like your pH is almost right where you want it! Lime takes months to affect pH so, ideally it needs to be added either in late fall when you're wrapping up harvest or early spring (weeks before planting). Then, in an effort to keep pH stable, I include some in my own organic fertilizer which I apply to the plants - once they're established the link shows all about that ! kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6DFpXSEZctraac
