I love everything about this. The subtle distinction between characters without caricature or stereotype. Expressiveness without overdramatization. The perfect diction, lovely accent, and seemingly effortless slipping in and out of different character's accents. It's just perfect. I've listened to about half of the stories so far.

The Authors very last words by Holmes: "What is the meaning of it Watson? What object is served by this circle of misery, and violence, and fear. It must tend to some end, or else our universe is ruled by chance, which is unthinkable; but what end? There is the great standing perennial problem, to which human reason as is far from an answer as ever...." Punctuation is my own, please forgive me if needful 🤭

Let’s suppose ‘addictions’s are self medication for a lack of direct action where it is demanded; in this story, the adage , “ houseguests, like fish, begin to stink after three days.”, wasn’t applied. There in lies the rot. A victim of circumstance or a master of our destiny? Perhaps, both!

Thanks Greg Wagland. It's a pleasure to read Sherlock Holmes in your voice.💯🌹 Thoughts about this sad story... This mysterious circle is the result of an equation. Pity Jim Browner... but he's also responsible for losing his temper... He was good enough to change his job and his place of residence for his wife.. and quit drinking. İf they (Sarah and Jim ) sat separately, probably none of this would have happened. Jim should not have let Sarah stay in the house once he knew her intentions. At least he could have told Mary what had happened. Though Sarah could have gotten out of it with lies. Mary, like Jim, could honorably refuse Alfred. But we don't know what Sarah told Mary about Jim. Sarah is to blame for everything, but Jim and Mary have also succumbed to their feelings and emotions. Married people make promises to each other. They should have trusted each other. At least they could have talked. All of This circle of misery and violence and fear is test. And everyone knows that teachers do not help students during exams. Allah is merciful and compassionate.

What an incredibly sad story. Sarah's jealousy of her younger sister, caused her to disrupt her marriage. Her attempts to engage adulterously with the husband failed, so she connived and encouraged her sister to engage in it, obviously making her believe that her husband was adulterous himself. What a horrible end. I am not glad that the characters were brought to murder or be murdered, but I AM glad that Sarah was faced with the realisation of what her actions caused. Such a sad story.

This was as delightful as ever. Bravo, Mr. Wagland. I enjoyed this very much and I thank you. I have a theory about the ridiculous number of dislikes. I wouldn't take it to heart if I were you. We can surmise that there has been some increase in views (or person's listening, as it were) as your channel has become better known. Seemingly, that has brought in new people for whom Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is only a strange name they've seen flash by on television with the addendum of the words "characters in this *film* were inspired by the works of". That is to say, many people who have never actually held a volume written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, let alone having opened and... gasp!...read one. They see the name "Sherlock Holmes" in the title of the video, click, and expect a live action film with Hollywood stars and not an exceptionally fine audio recording of one of the delightfully written stories, the more fools they.

It’s Amusing to the American ear to hear Sir Arthur’s frequent use of the term “outhouse.” In the US such buildings as he refers to are called out buildings, or were called such on the plantations and prosperous farms in colonial times. Still are, I suppose. Kitchens and stables and blacksmith’s forges and icehouses and hay barns and storage buildings of various kinds were called outbuildings. An “outhouse,” in areas with no running water or indoor plumbing, was an outdoor privy.
