This is the video based on Class 12 Physics Chapter 14 Semiconductors. Full Video has been explained in Malayalam. In this Video you guys will study an another application of transistor.
A transistor is used for switching operation for opening or closing of a circuit. This type solid state switching offers significant reliability and lower cost as compared with conventional relays.
Both NPN and PNP transistors can be used as switches. Some of the applications use a power transistor as switching device, at that time it may necessary to use another signal level transistor to drive the high power transistor.

mam..one doubt..collector emitter junction should be revers bias..it is an npn transistor..then emitter is connected to n side of the battery..then how it is revers bias mode??
@ECStudyMalayalam
@ECStudyMalayalam 4 жыл бұрын
Emitter leg is grounded , not connected to negative terminal of the battery. For making base ( p type ) junction to forward mode , p type connected to positive terminal . For making collector ( n type ) junction to reverse mode, n type connected to positive terminal. So that width of the depletion region increase Hope you got it 😊

Thank you parvathy for your valuable reply. And about your doubt, If you are a regular viewer you may get that, +ve to +ve means p-type connected to the positive terminal. Actually, I'm telling the condition for forward biasing in almost all videos & I just thought may everyone knows that. I'm really sorry if just got confused.

Hey Akshay, I really didn't get what you asked for but, may this help you When Vo = Vcc, this condition is cut off. Because there is no voltage drop. What does it means no voltage drop? It means that there is no flow of current through that resistor Rc. Right? When there is no current flow it means transistor is off condition And the text book also says the right thing, when input increase transistor will get on. Because when input increase, voltage drop across Rc increase, that means current is flowing, transistor is in on condition. Did you get that? Hope you get it 😃
