you forgot the number 1 thing that brakes on the N55 and that is the charge pipe.... that should be the first mod.... get an all metal charge pipe.... and if you can a metal Turbo to Intercooler pipe.... Evolution Racing makes a really good one.... also you can upgrade you oil cooling system... with the Mosselmann Oil Thermostat Housing and the CSF upgraded oil cooler.... keeping the oil cooler, but still in the proper operating band makes the oil become more durable....

I did exactly your mods sir. And a Mosselman stage 2 tune. Sometimes my oil gets close to 120 degrees so the upgraded oil cooler is not in vain I believe! Also have a EVO intercooler to bring down the engine temps a bit. Takes off like a train!

@@wesley8096 it is possible, but I encountered a problem with the N55 cooling, or rather with how its operation is implemented, I will describe it in the next post, we will think about what to do. in short, any intervention/improvement in the CO, even just opening the blinds, does not lead to a decrease in the temperature of the internal combustion engine, but to the fact that the pump rotates more and more slowly... so way is to remove the hydraulic valve, installed a plug from n52. The pump will work constantly. Accordingly, there will be a benefit from the cooling system.

Maybe if I hold up a paper sign that would help. :) on a serious note I will try to improve the structure and flow of the videos when I can spend more time on them. I would really like to break these long videos up into shorter ones, not everyone wants to know about N55 Turbo upgrades or fuel upgrades, so they can just go to the bits they want.

Injectors on an n55 are well built. My f10 n55 FBO Stage 2 currently has 90k, never had issue except for the shredded drive belt at 60k. The n54 has major problems starting at 50k miles

I have a e92 335i n55, man I love this car so fun to drive & sounds soo good too! They make about 295whp stock. I have cosmic mods (wing,splitter etc), koni shocks, h&r sport springs, ngk sp, Dinan coils (highly recommend). Getting couple more performance mods next month.

so i bought a timing problem having e90 n55 335xi havnt fixed it yet it has fbo exept like intercooler my dad wanted to swap to n54 but it seems like it’s very hard but i also seen n54 internals fit in n55 like crank n pistons so i was wondering if that would sent it on its way to make 800 after i fix it

mid 600s is definitely possible with N55 if you upgrade the turbo and fuel system, but don't expect 4 digits from it no matter how much money you put in.

@@BimmertechG01 why not? ghassan automotive makes a remanufactured 1000whp 1010lb ft of torque n55 engine and that’s just scratching the surface of what this platform can do. Any performance engine can be reworked to accommodate high horsepower. You just have to replace the pistons if they aren’t forged, close deck block conversion, forged rods and luckily the rods and crankshaft on the n55o/ and t versions have forged rods and crankshaft, also upgrade head studs, and bearings, upgrade cam shafts, then add a stroker kit and you can make 1,000+ hp. Don’t forget most bmw bottom ends like the n55 are used for their diesel counterparts so they’re incredibly robust and can handle high temp/ and boost pressure upwards of 80 psi.

Hi, nice vid. Thinking of buying a 535 n55 and im new to tuning and everything so I wanted to ask, is it possible to for example mount a tuning box, hybrid turbo and an ecu remap all at the same time? Or does having a tuning box mean you cant have an ecu remap, or a turbo etc?

Most tuning boxes are setup for a factory engine so if you do other mods you'll lose out on them with a preset "map in a box". Some tuning boxes can be programmed and these could be setup to optimize your turbo and other mods. There are OBDII modules around that unlock the ECU and allow you to tweak parameters and some of these may be suitable with other mods. I would strongly recommend you add these mods and get the car setup on a rolling road remap, it will make a world of difference to the end power you get. Don't mix a remap with a tuning box though, both will try to take up the slack BMW build in and this will usually "push things over the edge." It is very much a case of tuning box/piggyback ECU or get the stock ECU remapped.
