I haven't seen any of your videos before, but for some reason, KZbin served this video on my page, and I clicked and was hooked. It was pretty interesting to hear that you "didn't have the confidence" to speak to the camera, as right now, you seem like a natural. Pretty cool that this one video, where you tell your backstory, is picked up by KZbin. Good luck with your channel. I think you are on to something :)

Congratulations on 1k. I admire your persistence. I too have a bunch of channels and feel very awkward on camera so I film the videos and do voice over later. Funny thing is my only channel that got monetized is one where I don't talk at all.

1st time viewer, 1,271th subscriber! I just started building a KZbin channel several months ago, and I can 100% relate. I would have started a channel years earlier if it weren't for the weird feeling it is to talk to the camera. The channel I'm working on now is overall a faceless channel, but I can feel after each upload things feel more normal. Just hit 50 subscribers! :) Eventually I'll upload some videos on this account with the dreaded talking to the camera, and talking in public, content. Best of luck in your journey!!!

nice! and yeah I completely remember that feeling and process, but every time it gets slightly less daunting and slightly more enjoyable, it's like a muscle that needs to be exercised! Hope the channel goes well, I remember hitting that first 100 subscribers feels so cool!

The algorithm just recommended me your most recent video about the Canon camera & I found it really well made. But I'm kind of over the whole travel, photography thing for me personally, so I didn't think too much of it. It of curiosity I checked your other videos & this title caught my eye. Your story feels really honest & genuine, I can see my struggles with recording your own voice, trying stuff but ultimately fighting with that love hate relationship of social media and content creation. The only difference it, that you are way further in overcoming these struggles & that's really impressive. I've just subscribed - someone that determined has to have something interesting to say!

Good video. You must have tickled the algorithm just right since YT put it front of me in the top row. I have a short attention span and I made it all the way through. I have been here for 12 years and have 75 subscribers. Maybe it's because I only have 5 unrelated videos, and they pretty much suck. Or maybe it's just because I really don't care. I do have lots more footage stashed on a hard drive somewhere, maybe it's time for video number 6. Let's see, is it pretty sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico, blowing up random stuff with electricity, or useful electronics projects for making music? Nah, it's easier just to watch more stuff.

Thanks for sharing! Im curious about your process. I've created content and enjoy making content.. I don't enjoy the editing part, that takes so much time! Do you have a script.. do you just go out with a loose outline? How does making a video from start to finish look like for you?
@gabrielbailey8026 ай бұрын
I'm actually going to make a video explaining the process, but finding it difficult on what to title it, suggestions welcome! But yes, essentially I spend a bunch of time just thinking of ideas, for each idea I then need to think of a title and thumbnail concept. After that, I come up with the top talking points, then I take those points and come up with a bunch of paragraphs and a 'shot list', then I go out and shoot, come back and the edit becomes so much easier because everything is basically laid out and ready to go. Right now I've got almost 200 ideas, 25 with a title that I want to shoot, 5 that I've scripted but haven't shot yet, 3 that I've already shot and need to edit, 2 that are edited and scheduled on KZbin for the next 2 weeks
@gabrielbailey8026 ай бұрын
And I think what it boils down to is, you don’t have to script everything or spell everything out, but if you’re sat in the edit trying to create the story on the timeline, it’s a much more time consuming and overall exhausting process, whereas if the edit session is just bringing the story that’s in your head to life, it’s quicker and a more fulfilling process
@oponder6 ай бұрын
Appreciate you sharing about your process! I think some kind of pipeline like that would be super helpful for me, so hearing a bit about how you do it helps me visualize what it would take for me to be consistent and think a bit about if it’s realistic or how to prioritize it! So thanks for sharing a pretty clear end to end picture of your process ❤

Been regularly making travel videos since 2006, i still get a lot less views per video compared to you. I rarely vlog or talk in my videos, but they are the sort of videos I want to see before I visit a new place. A lot of travel vloggers talk too much about themselves and dont show much of the actual place. I went to look for your old videos, why did you remove them if you still think they are good?
