Thx for this one Max. Can't get many to play snooker around here. 14.1 has definitely become my favorite. Battling players at times. 14.1 is a great practice game with the continued pressure. Loved how you explained this entire run. Cheers.

This is great man, I find myself playing more straight pool to help me get in stroke. It’s fun to just shoot, really enjoying your videos Max! One of these days we need a Joe Rogan & you shooting pool video!

Very good pool. It reminds me of watching Lou Butera practice on his personal table with the extra tight pockets (slightly longer rails). He was my inspiration but I never was able to compete in his league. I worked for him for several years and played constantly.

I'm glad you made it into the 200 ball runners club unfortunately for me I'm still trying to get to the century mark. My high run is 92 now but I'm thinking of switching to my right hand.

I agree for the 7-15 ball color; a light brown would still contrast nice with the orange of the 5-13 pair. the other colors have green, blue or yellow in them so they're fine as-is. Like the commentary and always love watching good pool, no matter which game is being played.

Humbling to watch..been playing 2 years now I really wanna get this good or better in time. I haven't tried doing straight pool like this I usually just play against myself shooting solids then stripes in 8 ball. Thanks for the video.

You should practice 9 ball..no safes..just trying to run in 2 turns

Str8 pool is my favorite game although my high run is a tiny 32...you're game here is very close to a traditional style but you do a few things that younger (under age 50) players who play a lot of 9 and 10 ball like to do. For example you have a habit of crashing into the stack almost randomly and you rely too much on shot making and not enough on cue ball control IMHO. Old masters of str8 pool go into the stack with something specific in mind. There is a certain ball they try to hit and they are particular about which side they hit that ball. This gives them much more predictability, it mitigates scratching and getting stuck or frozen to another ball. With your cue ball control and experience you should be able to get well above 150 routinely. IMHO. Several times you mentioned importance of maintaining concentration. You are certainly correct about that. Which brings up a question . I found the music sound track very distracting while watching the vid. Did you have that playing during your run or did you add it to the video when you edited and published the video. I love music as much as anybody but that kind of music plays too loudly, the beat of it I think can rob your concentration. If you're going to have music while you try to make a good run maybe you should try a different kind of music that sounds very cool but played not so loudly. So from a rank hacker here's some advice. Don't be lazy when you have to go into the stack. Do that with a specific goal in mind and use music more conducive to relaxation. Besides, aren't you a bit old and the wrong sex to be into Katy Perry and Kesha? LOL just kidding. I kind of like Madonna myself. LOL

No won watches to hear music. The remote chance that somewon likes the music far out weighs the cognitive dissonance of a player, who wants to be educated. I may like a particular song, that no others do.

A few nights ago I was in a pool room playing with a guy I did not know. He had never played Str8 pool but he was a very good 9 ball and 8 ball player. Anyhow, I set up a style of str8 pool that was a lot of fun. We racked 14 put the cue ball and the break ball wherever we wanted and ran until a miss. Then re-rack and the other guys turn. So there was no "safety" play...a miss is a re-rack and the other guys turn. Fast and fun - especially for str8 pool! He got as high as 16 - I matched that and then missed an easy shot - took for granted I was going to make it, jumped up - missed. Shame too because at that point I had found my stroke and was playing with some confidence. I LOVE hate this game! :-)

Max, should make another instruction video without the music in the background. Be more professional in your entire approach to pool instruction. Your advice and voice should be clear without any other distractions in the background. I stopped watching this video within 20 seconds because of the music in the background.

Harsh. The video is very professional. The music was too loud I agree but C’mon... this is a valuable, free gift to 14:1 fans by a world class player who is an exceptional communicator and instructor.
