As far as I can tell, the issue with the 'distraction sticks' is that they're to far from the main craft. I'm not sure if just reducing the hang distance would be enough, or whether having a second set hover above it would be better. But either way, they're far enough away for the missiles to retarget onto the main craft while not seeing the sticks.

Hey Lathrix, I would recommend against capturing. Feel free to do it to spare yourself the grind, but you'll be swimming in materials soon enough that capturing will likely remove most of the challenge (if any).

Enemies already spend 3-15 times the materials to make similar ships, and I've yet to see Lath sweat against anyone on Neter. Even the occasional lost battle just means the next battle will have a shiny new revenge craft in it.

Techpriest Mosley's Journal Entry III It was an interesting day when I had to wake up in some industrial room instead of an old dirty hammock but I suppose it's just as well, due to the fact the DWG has been going through some dark times. The DWG has lost more Rapiers than a knight who is really bad at dueling and a huge power vacuum has been left after Sal charged in guns blazing as opposed to utilizing their blatant artillery tp pick off the enemy airships one by one. The Onyx Watch have been losing Cordon after Cordon, taking heavy losses in the process, although that may be due to the designer cheesing the hell out of it. Anyways, fact of the matter is, if the DWG and OW have had difficulty with this new legion then I have little faith for the Lightning Hoods. Let's hope we actually know how to use basic tactics. Such as heavier warships lying around the back and opening fire like artillery. I've recently heard of a new ship the new faction has obtained. It apparently looks like a form of insect which shoots rounds out of its mouth with radar sticks to divert missiles. Clever. More news from the DWG front, they lost a Moray to these so called ''Envoys''. I doubt Envoy is a very good name, I would recommend ''Vultures'' because of how they circle in for the kill. Fact of the matter is, though, the writing's on the wall for the DWG. The OW are showing some disturbing trends too. They are losing much larger and bulkier craft to smaller, more compact vessels. The moray falls from the sky because it uses helium pumps. When you break a hole in it it will depressurize and fall. 10:14 That is true yes, but has been nerfed compared to the past. Before, missile explosions dealt three times the stock explosive damage underwater. Now, they only recieve a substantial buff at high depths.

You could upscale and uphrade the Envoy into a proper fire support craft of sorts, with more Kinetics or some other manner of long range missile support for tankier ships. Maybe volley missiles? Name it the 'Ambassador' as an upgrade.

Not sure how much experience you have with the evasion strafing, but in my (few hours) of testing/experience, it's usually better to have slightly different left/right times so enemy detection is screwed over more. Personally I think prime evasion times are better, although I haven't tested whether larger or smaller intervals are better against "most things" -enough. Love the series, I hope everything gets better for you.

I think the Iron Cordon blew itself up with a misfired missile (say that one ten times fast!). Missiles (esp the large/huge) have a propensity to get stuck inside the firing craft, but it seems to mostly happen on faster moving craft. In the IC's case, I don't think it's particularly good at dealing with subs.

So that first Iron Cordon fight. I think one of its turrets might've spawned inside itself, causing a minor detonation which quickly spread to some of its more explosive components, which lead to, well, the state it was in afterwards. There was an explosion at the beginning of the battle, which points to something like that, though it also might've been turret failsafes specifically not working as the craft loaded. As for the missiles at the end, I assume the friend/foe AI block (whatever that one's called) was destroyed, either by the EMP or by the self-destruction, which made the missiles then turn around and target it what with that it's a bigger target and that's probably what they're set to prioritize. Also from above water, that fight looked perfect with the darker theme and how hopeless the battle was for them, particularly as I'm pretty sure your EMP was what made it sink, not the damage. So yeah, it won't help against weapons and AIs since they're heavily protected, but it will still take things with less defence near the outside of the craft, like pumps. I do wonder how hopeful the Onyx Watch's people were seeing such powerful forces going against their enemy, and how they're feeling on that now. A look at your newest addition to the fleet would certainly be demotivating.
