It has nothing to do with idol worship. It’s race mixing. Read the account for yourself. God literally flooded the earth because of it. He separated nations at Babel. He blessed Phinehas for killing a Moabite and an Israelite while they were having sex. I could go on It seems this guys parents have committed race mixing. They’ve gone the way of balaam.
