why does stem splitter only produce vocal - bass - and drums plus a general track. It would be great if I could stem split the 'other' track and so get at the guitar or keyboard. Any thoughts on this

I can only summize that it's due to a mixture of processing power and the accuracy of differentiating the tonal qualities of the audio. I imagine that the extracting and separating of masked frequencies is quite a dev challenge. This might well change as time progresses...

@@MarcMatthewsProducer hi thanks for your reply - I was wondering if I saved the 'other' track as a wav file or similar, would I be able to then bring that into Logic and do the stem split again. would this then split out the other instruments. This is something I need to try when I next fire up Logic. Do you have any comments on this as I think there are others who may benefit from your advise. Thanks

​@@dcoul4438 it's my pleasure, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Regarding the splitting of split stems, it's not something that I've tried but I can only surmise that it wouldn't separate the 'other' split stem into discrete instruments. The stem splitter has been developed to identify the four discrete instrument groups (drums, bass, vocals, and other) and I'm guessing that it will return a null result or similar for drums, bass, and vocals if they're not present rather than further separate the stem. I hope that makes sense. That being said, this is my guess and I could well be wrong 😆 let me know the results of your experiment.
