Ableton - How to Connect an Audio Interface

What's up man, I have a focusrite scarlett 2i4. In audio preferences it simply says audio device and focusrite usb asio come up. There is no audio input and audio output and I am getting no signal into ableton from my mic. Any ideas?

Yo bro I have an audiobox96 usb with a desktop Asus comp. And my interface isn't picking up my interface as an audio it's on midi but I can't record in midi, can you help me so I can record?

yo man, ya first thing is to make sure your audio interface driver is installed. For your Audiobox96, here is the driver: www.presonus.com/products/AudioBox-USB-96/downloads ... After the driver is installed, it will show up in your audio settings of Ableton (upper left area, click "Live" -> "Preferences"). Choose your Audiobox96 as the audio input (and output if your speakers are connected to your interface. If your speakers are connected to your computer, keep the audio output as desktop audio). The audio input, however, has to be your interface to get sound into ableton from your microphone/instrument After your interface is chosen as the audio input, you can go into the main area of ableton. When you right click to add a new track, choose "insert audio track", ...then on that new track under "Audio from..." choose the channel on your interface that your mic or instrument plugged in to (for example channel 1 or channel 2 - you'll see a green signal on the channel your mic/instrument is plugged into). Again, for ableton to detect your interface - the driver has to be installed, so make sure that's done first. It's a bit tricky, I know. If you need more help, let me know. cheers bro

Epsilon-144 thanks man I've been wrecking my brain for 2 days about this. But, do I have to be connected to the net to install it?

You need to be connected to the internet to download it yes, unless it came with a CD to install. If there’s a CD, you can use that without the net.
