I would just save up and go for Voigtlander if Leica 35 cron is not feasible financially. Great review!

7Artisans is only the cheapest solution for 35mm photography. Of cause the original Leica lens is the best choice and Vougtlander is the second. Thanks for comment and enjoy :)

Depends what you want. I want to shoot b&w film on my Leica m3 with external 35mm viewfinder with it and use this lens maybe 10 days per year. Normally I'd use the camera for 50mm lenses, but I also want to have a 35mm for certain situations. I have (just for fun) adapted the lens on my Sony Alpha 1 and my Nikon Zf. I think sharpness and bokeh are quite good (definitively good enough for 24MP full frame sensors and more than good enough for b&w film). The weakness of this lens is that it's prone to flare and ghosting. If you keep an eye on avoiding direct sunlight in the frame the results are great. And yes, the Voigtlander Apo Lanthar 35mm f2 is definitively better (especially for higher resolution digital Leicas). But would you see the difference on b&w film? I don't think the difference will be huge. This lens is pretty good - especially for this low price.
