The western world can afford to purchase notebooks, Macbooks and workstations for python and deep learning. But our friends from other regions do not have the same luxury. Raspberry Pi is not good for training machine learning models but should be able to handle prediction using a pre-trained model. I recommend training models on Google Colab and deploying the trained model on Raspberry Pi. By the way, NVIDIA is releasing Jetson Nano for deep learning purposes. The price range would be similar to raspberry Pi. May be you can use it for deep learning training. We will have to wait and see.

You do not need a screen or keyboard to run code on Raspberry Pi. You can VPN into the Pi and execute the code. This is how kids work with them when they work on projects like autonomous driving or connecting garage door to the Internet, etc.

Sir, how to transfer trained model on Google colab on laptop to Rpi inorder to deploy it? Do we need to change file type of the model file?

No need to change anything as long as you are using the same structure for your input data. In other words, if you preprocess your input data to the same format that the network is trained on then the trained model should work on Rpi. Make sure your keras and Tensorflow versions are the same, sometimes that may make a difference.

Usually Raspberry PI should handle inference using trained Tensorflow model. For real time inference you may need TensorFlow Lite.

If you have a PC then please use a PC. I also use a Raspberry pi to do projects where I can connect with hardware. For example, connect to the garage door so I can open it using my smartphone. It makes it fun. In any case, the video is for those who cannot afford a PC.
