if c1==c2, why does c1 always take the cherry?

They share the same spot, so you only count the cherry once.

@@Algorithmist Correct, but doesn't it matter, which of them takes it, like in cherry pickup 1, the move from top to bottom would affect the outcome going back up.

@@bismeetsingh352 you only care about the total, so no, as long as one of the robots pick it up.. it's is equivalent.
