Sunny and Sica's voice has the same style, but Sica has higher range. Maybe the reason why most of the high notes or parts that Sica has was given to Sunny as long as it is with the latter's range, else it will be covered by Taeyeon or Tifanny.

They lost a good vocalist, period. I still don't understand how SM dared to even kick her/release her from the group honestly. She is a vital member of the group, and even if they had arguments, I didn't think SM would dare to kick her out. Her vocals are definitely a key point in SNSD songs. They can't sing the normal version of Into the new world anymore because Jessica's high note at the end of the song was too high and i believe only Jess and Taeyeon can hit that note, but Tae has a high note right before Sica's so Tae can't cover that part so they changed the song to ballad.

Imagine saying SM Group Main Vocalist is above average. They cant relate with this statement. Why we thinking Jessica is so great singer? Bcz not of her high note only, and if you a real SNSD fan, not only solo stan, you will know Taeyeon and Jessica always lead the chorus and they are the one who make how SNSD sounds like. Not sure why people complain when Tiffany sang Jess Part. I think she did well. Tiffany and Jessica vocals are like fire and ice. The different between their voices is that Tiffany has a stronger/lower tone to it while Jess is much soft/higher. Both are amazing in their own way :3

Pocket knife it's all about preferences my friend :) I know many people like Tiffany voice. It has that sort of American appeal to it. I love Jessica and Taeyeon voice as well because they are sweet. But I also like listening to Tiffany sing because her voice has this powerful tone that makes it noticeable. Besides I love it when Tiffany sings in falsetto. She sounds sooo good. Kind of has this silky, soothing affect. I really like it when she sings songs that fit her voice like when she did a duet with Kyuhyun with "to the beautiful you", when she sings "only one" in the blood ost, when she sings "cheap creeper", and when she sings "almost is never enough" with henry. She sounded amazing! People sometimes say that she sounded like Ariana Grande when she does her cover because Tiffany and Ariana has similar voice and style :) I think all of the girls in SNSD have different style in their voice that fits certain songs. They may sing great in the songs that fits their category and in certain songs it doesn't fit. This also includes for Taeyeon and Jessica. For example Jessica voice fits ballad, soft, and girlish songs. I don't think her voice fits in a diva like song concept like Tiffany. We all know Taeyeon voice is incredible but sometimes i feel like it lack excitement in certain songs because Taeyeon voice is so soothing and is fits for most ballad songs than girly songs. Tiffany on the other hand needs to work on her control and we know that she is slowly improving by the way we hear her sings her ballad songs and by using different techniques.

Of course Jessica's voice will always be perfect for those lines. It was given to her in purpose since she will do well with the lines. Since Taeyeon & Seohyun have the nearest similarity to Sica's voice & tone, they should make Seohyun sing her high parts coz Tiffany kinda fails everytime she sings them. About the other members who aren't lead vocalist, they can help singing the easy lines.

chinleeradcliffe I just want to say, (i don't know how to say in a musician way) Tiffany is good in high note or screaming but in a different (loud) way of Jessica's high note (softer), so I prefer another member to take the high note role, for example Taeyeon because her voice is softer than Tiffany, Sooyoung or Yoona (if her voice is stronger enough to hit high note). No offence to Tiffany but this is what I think from looking and listen to their current concert.

I might be a little bias but I think Yoona and Sunny cover Sica's parts the best (other than the higher and longer notes to which Taeyeon rocks) since Sica's voice was soft and Sunny is able to control her voice to be soft or strong and Yoona's voice is naturally soft.

I honestly really love Sunny and Yoona covering Sica's part in comparison to Tiffany and Taeyeon (though they do really well on specific songs) because Sica's voice kind of reminds me of a thin line in my head. Jessica's voice is delicate and crisp and Sunny and Yoona's voices both have that kind of thing going as well so it fills in the spot really well. Whereas Tiffany and Taeyeon's voice rather than a thin line in my head I have an image of an airbrush effect. Their voices are strong and not delicate or soft (though Taeyeon can do that to her voice when she really wants to lol) but yo when Tiffany does Jessica's high notes I still like the effect it gives off. All the girls did great jobs but of course everyone's voice is special and Jessica is Jessica :( omg at 7:12 though Tiffany is like "DO YOU WANNA BE MY LOVERRRR!! >:O" All intense af and I just die lmfao and 7:34 arrghh :D

I personally feel that snsd will also have some sorts of power over SM as well because they’re a strong and popular group, nowadays, I don’t think SM can interfere with snsd that easily such as kicking out a member without their permission or agreement. I’m not hating on ot8, I love them but if ot8 really didn’t kick Jessica out, then why jessica posted that status on the day she left stating that ot8 kicked her out. If it was SM, Jessica would have just mentioned SM only, why snsd as well? Like seriously, would you pretend to be a victim and put your sisters under the negative side of the public eyes? There was definitely something happened behind the scene that led them to the action of kicking jessica out and I believe it was true that they kicked her out but we just don’t know the reason that leading them to do so. I just don’t agree with people blaming it all on SM because otherwise jessica wouldn’t shade snsd that way in her leaving status. At the end of the day, snsd is a group of 9 girls, drama and arguments can happen, during angers and tensed periods, bad decision can be made and even if they want to undo it now, it’s too late. I’m just hoping that until now, they still regret about that day like we are right now, seeing them fell apart.

I know I'm too late (to be a sone)... but I just wanna say that... SNSD is just like a RAINBOW, despite of their color (not their skin, okay. think deeper) differences they still stand out and makes them unique from others.. If one color from the RAINBOW disappear it will lose it charm and you can't call it RAINBOW anymore, so, when jessica got kicked out of Snsd, snsd lose one color that makes them stand out from others and you can't call it Snsd anymore... When they are still 9 they made people fall in love with their unique color and they shone so bright that no one can do it at that time, so when one of its color leave them, a storm came and the darkness separate them from each other and until now we (sones) are still waiting for that RAINBOW to appear before our eyes and can't wait to see them shine so BRIGHT again. We hope that the storm will stop now after so many years and a RAINBOW will appear, and the LIGHT will come to defeat the darkness that separate you from each other. SNSD FIGHTING!!
