I've had both, I love the retail version and I think it's my favourite Sonic they've ever made, love the design, unique sounds and how smooth the mechanism is. The online version isn't as good imo, it's more brittle, the petals don't extend as far or reflect the light as good, and the mechanism of the one that I had wasn't nearly as smooth, it took some force to push and one of the petals just wouldn't extend as far as the others without me having to manually move it. Quite tempted to get the new gold version, it looks quite cool as a one-off.

Mine's on the way. When they do Ncuti's, yes he's getting his own according to the newest magazine, they're going to want to expand the reach of retailers, if for no other reason than the fact that people went insane over this screwdriver.

I live in America so its hard to get thes but mine is almost here and i have the Trans-Temporal Sonic Screwdriver so i am content with no extra sounds/color. My biggest concern are the claws being flimsy

I got the black box version. Love it. Don't care about the extra colours.

Same. It's not the end of the world at all. Plus it's still got more sounds than most character sonics. Usually it's between 2 and 4, this has 5, and the online exclusive has 7 with 4 colours. Basically the retail version is still fantastic

I got he retail version and I feel like other reviewers thst is pretty accurate to the show prop for the little screen time it actually got but i feel 2 releases of this Sonic did cause Ncuti’s to get a later release when we could done one version of the anniversary Sonic as I call it and Ncuti’s in time for the Christmas special where he shows up already using ir nd the one nitpick I have with the last 3 designs is we didn’t get a show explanation of what happened to Jodie’s sonic and where the anniversary sonic and Ncuti’s sonic came from I know there is an expanded universe explanation for what happened to Jodie’s Sonic but that’s not show canon to me and show canon can go against expanded universe cannon also I think $69.99 American is a bit high for a sonic making it the most expensive sonic I have gotten I know it’s an anniversary sonic but they are never more then a little over $30 here in America $35-$40 I could understand being anniversary sonic but not $69.99

Is the cage section soft plastic? Or is it rigid?

Its kinda soft but be careful with if u drop it acitedntly because the cage snaped on mine
