# 15.1 - Kayaking on the Krutynia trail - DAY 1 - Sorkwity - Bieńki - 16 km (30/06/2019)

DAY 1 (June 30, 2019)
The video presents the first day of canoeing on the Krutynia River trail. Together with Karol, Łukasz and Patrycja, on June 30, 2019, we went to the PTTK Sorkwity station, where we started our water adventure. We were able to go rafting for free, because while participating in the 9th edition of the Polish Cormorant Travel Festival in Olsztyn (in April 2019), we told about our trip to the United States, winning vouchers.
None of us had participated in such an event before, so we did not know what to expect - neither in terms of difficulties on the route, nor our physical abilities, so we did not set ourselves a specific goal, according to the "what has to be" principle.
We redeemed the voucher, picked up the kayaks and spread out our luggage. By the way, initially I had some concerns about the capacity of the kayaks, as we had quite a lot of equipment.
We started from Lake Lampackie, from which we entered Lake Lampasz through a small isthmus among reeds. Initially, we missed it, because on the left side of the lake, it is hardly visible from a distance. Then we stopped at a pier where, taking advantage of the wonderful weather, we took a bath and swam to the shore on the other side.
Then we came across the narrow Sobiepanka stream. It was so lazy and shallow that we had to get off the kayaks and lead them several times. It was the most interesting experience of the day.
The next reservoirs we traveled include the Kujno lake with a forested shore, the picturesque Grabówka stream, and Dłużec Lake, where we stopped again on the pier and once again had a problem with finding a water connector. Finally, we reached the right bank of Lake Bialy, where the PTTK hostel is located in Bieńki, so we sailed a total of about 16 kilometers. Originally, we wanted to reach the next PTTK station in Babiętach (additional 10 km), but we found it was getting slowly late. We "parked" our kayaks there, paid for the night, pitched our tents and regenerated, waiting for the next day of adventure.
