2016 Challenger. I just went through this with the front bracket bolts yesterday and today. I soaked them and was about to use heat. Enormous amount of torque the whole length of the bolt. Yellow thread locker was on it also. The bolt actually protrudes out of the bracket behind the rotor about a quarter inch exposed to the elements. I am not sure if it was a rusted bolt tip, or the thread locker. There was a good amount of almost clear substance in the bracket threads. After a good clean up of the threads, they went in all the way by hand. SOB of a job!

Just bought a 2021 Challenger and after two months of having it I've noticed that when I hit the break at low speeds like coming to a stop, it makes a creaking sound. Not happening when turning or anything else, just breaking at low speed. Looked it up and everything I found was rather a warped rotor or bad pads. Brought me here. Thanks for the walkthrough. Hopefully this will stop the creaking.

Yes personal preference. It could help keep things a little looser over time long term, but I never do it and never have a problem (these are our vehicles that I work on, daily drivers). And to be honest, a lot of people overdo it and get the crap on the rotors and pads which is bad- they forget about the wind while driving down the road that blows it all over the place. So if you do grease anything, it should be a very small thin film for this reason...

Then idk and somebody may have replaced yours with a different sized head or it's the difference in year or trim or something- that's why a lot of times I don't say the size because it can vary and then people don't understand. 19mm is the same as 3/4, so it might be 15/16, 7/8, or a larger mm size.

I replaced my sons 14 challenger rotors and brake pads on front passenger side, and planning to replace other side next. I noticed what sounded like a hydraulic noise coming from that wheel after I finished up. Any ideas?
@BuckeyeBallistics
@BuckeyeBallistics 11 ай бұрын
Not sure what you mean by that, I would have to hear it. And only when you hit the brakes or? I'm also unclear as to whether or not you have slotted rotors like in this video. First things that come to mind are the rotor mounted backwards if it's slotted, and whether or not the rotor had the storage grease on it and if you cleaned it off properly or not...
@RonSullivanHitting

@@BuckeyeBallistics Actually its not when applying breaks. Sitting in my drive moving the steering wheel back and forth. Probably not related to brake and rotor change.
