15 Amazing VIDEO GAME TRILOGIES You Need To Play

Some things are best experienced in threes - be it movies, TV series, books, or - in this case - video games. The video game trilogies considered here, all have consistent threads running through them. In most cases, this is narrative.
The story continues across all three entries, characters develop, conflicts go on, etc. And whilst some of the games featured here can be considered standalone entries, playing all three parts means experiencing gameplay embellishments, fresh mechanics, new settings, or characters; they’re a part of an overarching, cohesive, consistent picture - one that should be played through in its entirety as the developers intended.

Assassin's creed Ezio trilogy … It has literally everything. Great story and music, Overall good pacing not overstretched or too short, good voice acting, one of the most iconic video game characters. It definitely deserves a spot.

Just my personal opinion: AC 2 is most overrated game i ever played, i hated controls of this game tho, probably this game didnt get old too well, i saw the potential from the start, maybe the story was good but gameplay not for me i quess. It's 1st game with extremely good reviews which i abandoned after few hours

@@Bonekk1992 I know because I gave up at first too. But I gave it a second chance. The controls in AC2 are terrible. It does get a bit smoother in brotherhood and revelation though.

Would LOVE a Resistance remake, honestly all entrees to the series were great but Resistance 3 was on a whole different level. One of the most underrated PlayStation gems.

@@chiapets2594 It may not be the best out there but it fits this video more than Halo or Gears of War. You have 4 games (1 standalone DLC- Warhead) and book. That combined and everything from Crysis 3 if you are collecting collectibles gives us nice lore about Ceph and everything related. I hope we will see their homeworld in C4.

BG isn't a classic trilogy as BG3 is a largely standalone entry. TES isn't a trilogy at all.

Dead Space drops off so much that I'm not sure I would recommend the whole trilogy. Mass Effext 3's ending craped over so much greatness that I don't recommend it to anyone without giving a long warning. Uncharted 1-3 could easily be on this list. Tomb Raider I, II, III are classics, but im not sure how much they would be enjoyed by a modern audience. Metriod Prime, while not the classic (and better) 2d Metriods, is amazing.

I'm surprised Uncharted wasn't part of this. Well, judging from other comments, he may have enough suggestions to do another 15. I want a Resistance remake too. I had never heard of it, was looking through bargain and clearance bins for PS3 games one day and found this jewel called Resistance. After beating it, I mmediately searched for the second one. I definitely loved me some Crysis and Mass Effect too!

Ezio trilogy was peak assassins creed. The Jak and daxter trilogy and the sly cooper trilogy were my childhood. (I also played ratchet and clank but idk if those count). The saints row games with NO POWERS.

Some great ones there. I must admit, even though we roll our eyes at it, the original Call of Duty Modern Warfare trilogy in the late 2000s/early 2010s were solid games

Some more good trlogies: Bioshock, Warcraft, C&C: Tiberium Saga, Xenoblade Chronicles, God Eater, Borderlands, Darksiders, Metroid Prime, GTA III: Trilogy.

Ratchet and Clank Trilogy on PS2 were the peak of the series man before Rift apart came out they were the best And No resident evil and metal Gear solid is a crime

Yeah I would include Mafia. The third game is underrated and really is a pretty good game. It especially has a good story.

Ok, you people are insane. 1. Didn't even give Crysis an honorable mention. 2. You chose the Ratchet and Clank Future saga over the original trilogy. 3. You completely swept Spyro under the rug.
