I've now watched the video again with translated captions and have a couple more comments: 1) I'd encourage you to replace the plastic base with an aluminium one. I bought my aluminium base for about £5, the supplier had a service where they did "two cuts for free", I seem to remember I bought a 250mm x 250mm x 3mm sheet which they cut to the required size. You need to drill the holes in the base, but the plastic base can be used as a template to do this. During construction it's a good idea to use the plastic base, since it is easy to drill holes for circuit board etc, but once you are sure you have everything positioned as you like, you can then change over to the aluminium base. 2) I actually built 3 full BabyCubes as part of the development process. My philosophy is "plan to do it twice, since you will have to do it twice anyway", or alternatively "build it once to learn how to build it, then build it". After I had build it twice, and used it, I had some further improvements, hence the third build. Anyway, the first build was done in PLA, for ease of printing, since I knew I would rebuild it. It didn't have the cork dampers either, and I found that the X and Y motor mounts got hot enough to deform - they got bent under the strain of the belts. Since changing to PETG and using the cork dampers I have not had a problem. It will be interesting to see how you fare with PLA and the insulating cork dampers, but I think you will eventually need to reprint in PETG or ABS. 3) You will get a larger print area using the Voron 0 printbed, but you wont be able to use the full 120mm x 120mm size - the printhead's movement is restricted by the frame. 4) I see you are going to install Klipper. I'm using Marlin, but I did install Klipper to evaluate the resonance frequencies - it will be interesting to see how your values compare with mine.

Hi Martin, 1) Ok maybe that is a new job for my CNC Router :-) But that will be video 14 ... 2) We will see how and how long my PLA will stand ... Printing the sides in ABS should be now big deal later on. 3) Oh ok. But did I get more then 100x100 ? 4) We will see but InputShaper are a few steps in the future at the moment :-)

Interesting video. My German is only at school level, so my understanding is incomplete. A couple of comments: 1. I liked your CNC cork dampers. I bought my NEMA17 sized ones online, but for the NEMA14 size I cut mine using scissors. There main purpose is heat insulation - the motors can get quite hot and the dampers insulate them from the frame. 2. The hardest part of designing the printer was locating the screws, especially on the frame. I tried very hard to minimise the number of screws and to use screws of the same length where possible, but it was an extremely difficult task.

Hi Martin, "the motors can get quite hot and the dampers insulate them from the frame" Ok I will mention that in the build video. Thx for that hint. "I tried very hard to minimise the number of screws and to use screws of the same length where possible, but it was an extremely difficult task." No problem. I think if one wants to build this printer he should also be able to get all those screws :-) "My German is only at school level" Like my English :-) Anyway ... You can turn on the subtitles and enable automatic translation to English. It's not the best English in the world, but it's a great help.
