No generation leap has wowed me more than the jump from PS1/N64 to PS2/GCN/Xbox, Today's generational leaps start with HD versions/high FPS versions of last gen games and it take years to get to speed so we get slowly accustomed to the new power, while those Gamecube games felt like graphical slaps in the face, miles ahead of the N64's league.

Ngl my experience with upgrading from the Xbox 360 to Xbox one was pretty extreme too but I have to say I got into it late like as the Xbox one x came out. So to me playing games at better framerates and the graphics. I never noticed that lighting was such a big thing till I played a Xbox one and Xbox series s. Sort of showed me how priveleged you are with pc and the value of fps. Still the leap was just nowhere near as the ps2 and ngc era

I still can’t, for the life of me, understand why the GameCube Nintendo did not sell as well as the SONY PlayStation 2! In order of raw processing power: Microsoft XBOX GameCube Nintendo Sony PlayStation 2 *Sega Dreamcast (How did I forget you!?) The Cube was more powerful than the PS2 and a little less powerful when compared to the Box. A lot of 3rd party games were made for all three consoles and the GCN had a really cool add-on to their hardware in the form of the Game Boy Player. The Cube has four built-in ports to allow for instance 4-players and load times were far less than it’s competitors. The only real feature missing is the ability to play DVD’s. I feel that the GCN got cheated and ironically, the Cube was the one console besides the Super Nintendo where the system was made to compete with its competitors and very few consumers purchased the system in comparison to the PS2. I kind of understand why Nintendo has gone on to just do their own thing with features, launches, and graphical capabilities.

Gamecube had a 485 mhz cpu PlayStation 2 had 300 mhz Emotion Engine cpu meaning that it read data ar a slightly faster rate though PS2 had a wider appeal to the masses thanks to its capabilities making it easier to sell

@@bamban_garcia5562 this was the generation when clock speeds didn’t tell the whole story. Xbox was 733mhz but it was on a slower architecture than the GameCube power pc. GameCube also used more efficient and faster ram. Xbox had easier shader capability but the GameCube could do pretty much the Xbox could. It’s why it’s exclusives looked the best that generation.

I've always played my GameCube & Wii games using the Nintendo brand component cables to fully utilize the processing power & get that 480 Progressive resolution. The GC games looked great! Still have & play mine occasionally either on GC or Wii. I have every game mentioned here but F-zero.

definitely get the resident evil remake if you can. physical copies are cheap, its probably the greatest survival horror game ever made. The story behind its creation is amazing too. Monkeyball 1 and 2 are cheap i think too. I want to say thousand year door(which should have been included in this list btw) also, but its pretty expensive. I couldn't not recommend Eternal Darkness, absolutely outstanding game. The amount of masterpiece's made for the GameCube is unbelievable... Have fun!

Twilight Princess (my second favorite video game of all time), Wind Waker, Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime series and my personal choice XGRA: Extreme G Racing Association where you can break the sound barrier when you hit 750 mph and it makes the other sound effects cut out for a second or two. The switch is quite literally 30x the power of the GameCube. You can go look at the specs. Mario kart 8 deluxe is 1080p60fps and in 200cc mode, every bit as fast as gx....it even has Fzero tracks
