This is what happens to "Capitalism in its MONOPOLY stage"... like airlines, where we now have 2 choices for most routes, we used to have 100 choices, SOON we'll have 2 or 3 grocery choices, where we once had 15 choices. When that happens, captive as we are, they will begin to raise prices on all of us. I'm praying for the collapse of these monopolies. Meanwhile, our Congress just ignores the Sherman Antitrust Act meant to protect us from this anticompetitive behavior because they too have become corrupted.

I thought that was odd considering the started making them Harvey’s. I figured that indicated them not making much money. Then Aldi’s bought WD afterwards so I wasn’t wrong. Why would you remodel a store if you’re not making enough money to stay open? That made no sense to me.

And I could certainly say in the business of chain retail it doesn't matter if it's groceries general merchandise itself or even paired with groceries The bottom line is retail in general that is chain stores is simply when you start closing stores there is a bit of a potential that you could show up losses you could then build up a Bali of money and at some point you may be able to re-expand in a certain areas That's always the great hope. But the reality usually plays out quite differently and it is simply with every store you close that is that much more market share that you are going to lose and if you close enough stores in an area or even a region then that basically means you're also going to shut down that distribution center so you could have profitable stores in that general region but you've closed enough locations that the profitable stores do not justify the cost of the DC distribution center so then you're basically forced to pull out of the area altogether because you can't really afford to do business there Even though the locations you have are profitable remember... The back end of the store such as your logistics your shipping receiving all of your distribution centers all of that shit cost you more money to run most of the time than it does to run the front end of the store it's the back end that you need to be more than aware of this is the primary success story of Walmart. So closing stores is a good idea on paper especially if they are actively losing significant amounts of money but the long-term of that or even the short-term within a year or two as far dire consequences because basically you're sacrificing market share meaning right there you're cutting your overall sales across the board and then there again if you have to shut down a distribution center that means you can't effectively efficiently at low cost service that area. If you're a big enough company it's technically okay to pull out of a region and fall back that that can work, but they're getting more times than not once you start closing stores it gets the ball rolling into that's all you're going to end up doing but you don't really have a choice because you can't have them sitting there losing money so it's a huge rule of the dice most of these companies that are shutting locations some of them may fall through the cracks and you know they're going to find a stopping point and they're going to be fine they will survive at least for a while Well others will go on shutting stores and pretty soon the executives realize that's the only reason they're showing up to work is to oversee the demise of the company.

Okay so in the case of family Dollar you have a situation where yes they were slipping before Dollar tree purchase them One of the oldest investors on the Dollar tree board I cannot remember his name but he's known as an activist investor he was against it because he saw that it would just be too much saturation of debt and it would add to their operations in terms of cost but it would also make them larger and it would be harder to run it's funny because now he's proven to be correct. The biggest problem that family Dollar really faces is market saturation so in a lot of areas they have a habit of opening stores within literally a mile or half a mile of each other they're basically throwing up stores on top of each other they don't really have a lot in the name of corporate spacing. And of course they have over 8,000 locations so you can imagine the fucking real estate nightmare that that company deals with in terms of all of the leases that they must handle it's ridiculous and of course that's actually some of the closures that is taking place and the future closures that's going to happen which is simply they are allowing a lot of the leases on these locations to expire and then they're closing them in other words a lot of this locations were slated to close long time ago with no announcement because they were just letting the lease run out. Dollar tree had placed family Dollar up for sale earlier this year basically pretty much the early portion of the summer if not late spring but they have yet to find a buyer The company has way too much dad and there again it's over 8,000 locations is just a fucking logistics nightmare The whole company is basically in tathers it's just completely unmanageable this is part of the reason why they go through management like nobody's business and that ranges from not just store management but it also includes a lot of district management and then they have a tendency to go through regional managers left and right The company really doesn't know what the fuck it wants to be. Basically there's been efforts made by Dollar tree to integrate if not even convert or dual brand the stores but the problem is simply the formats are rather conflicting and so you have a grab bag of a few converted stores into a couple of different ideas but at the end of the day it's not exactly working. Another huge problem that family Dollar has but frankly I charge this about most dollar stores is depends on where they're located that really determines what the prices are going to end up being. Because I can tell you this if it is located near a wealthy area or if it is at a wealthy area if it is in an area that the wealthy people happen to go to the prices are pretty elevated. Family Dollar has had a lot of their troubles spanning over a decade or more basically you could say a decade and a half like most retailers The better half of 20 years and for many more 20 years has been very detrimental A lot of this comes from a lot of their own shit decisions you also have to understand when it comes to family dollar post July 2015 when the merger was actually made official that they basically bought them out Yes it's true that they technically purchased the company in 2014 but it takes a minute in the corporate world to get all your ducks in a row and get everything organized and get the companies relatively in sync so that's why it's not official until July 26th of 2015... But post 2015 they basically marched into just about every store and they wanted to reinvent the wheel and to be honest it sort of pissed off a lot of customers Well at the same time most of the management was not happy with the changes basically Dollar tree went about everything stupidly and very clumsy they in a lot of cases didn't try enough but then another cases they tried too much and at the end of the day they are out of touch they're good at running Dollar tree but they suck it trying to turn around family Dollar they can't do it family Dollar is just simply too big for them and their management style is not laid out in that big of a format even if they may have nearly the same amount of stores they're just not equipped to handle that many and so once they realized this they attempted to play it safe and just more so put family Dollar on autopilot and focused on Dollar tree this is why they've made the decision to go ahead and sell it which a lot of us had speculated for several years now that they were going to end up dumping it The problem is there's not at this time any real perspective buyers there's no real communications going on that we know of. At the end of the day they may sell it off in pieces so they may decide to take one region that they're located in and sell that off to whatever competitor that may want to expand such as DG they may take another region and sell it to somebody completely independent they might adopt somewhat of a franchise format much like Save-A-Lot grocery has The problem with that is of course keeping supplies rather consistent and then of course those perspective owners of those localized chains would have to have x amount of cash on hand at all times basically working capital you get into a lot more complications with trying to monitor what your franchisees are doing especially when it comes to brand consistency on the other hand the brand name such as the video pointed out has been tarnished to a degree. Basically to sum it up family Dollar is a complete unorganized clusterfuck of a mess it is basically too big for what it is and it does not have the proper management to actually rein that in and control it they lost control years ago that's why the original owner dumped it to Dollar tree and a lot of their immediate obligations that cost them a lot of money month over month year over year is going to be the lease agreements I mean you can close the store but the landlord still needs their money you may be able to negotiate that you would only pay six months worth of the rent versus the full year but for the most part there's no replacement businesses going to move into those locations and the landlords know it so they're going to hold you to that lease so you'd might as well just keep the store open until you're really in the danger zone of that lease running out.

how would you recommend i enter the crypto market? I am also looking at studying some traders and copying their strategy rather than investing myself and losing money emotionally. What's your take on this approach? and How can i reach her, if you don't mind me asking?
