One would be amazed the lack of knowledge of big KZbin posters not knowing what is meant by “port”, and “starboard” sides of a ship. This video was spot on. Thank you!!!
@williamromine571510 ай бұрын
Except for the last ship disaster. The audio says the ship suffered a gash on the Starboard side, but the video shows the gash was on the Port side. I watched it twice just to be sure I had heard it right the first time. Port is the left side and Starboard is the right side of a ship. The video clearly shows the left side of the ship being gashed. Oh well, I guess 14 out of 15 is pretty good.
@thomasmoeller344610 ай бұрын
@@williamromine5715 Yes, I had to watch that bit over again. The gash was shown to be on the port side but capsized on the starboard.

Please don’t think your humor in the Carnival Triumph ‘breakaway’ went unnoticed. That whole narrative had humor in it that appropriately took advantage of the facts presented. Great job!

The environmental consequences of these maritime incidents are truly alarming. The Prestige oil spill, for instance, devastated local ecosystems and impacted countless livelihoods, illustrating how a single error can ripple through communities and nature alike. It makes one ponder whether the maritime industry is doing enough to prioritize environmental safety over profit. While it’s clear that investigations and regulations are in place, the frequent nature of these disasters suggests a systemic issue. The Golden Ray’s lengthy salvage operation showed how complicated recovery can be, but it also highlights the need for proactive measures. If we continue to see a pattern of negligence, how many more ecosystems will suffer before we see meaningful change?

Was gonna make a similar comment but then saw yours. I only made the comment about the narrator talking about a ship striking the "Delta support of the Bay Bridge" and then showed nothing but the Golden Gate Bridge area. Two different bridges.

Can't blame Carnival Triumph trying to escape Mobile, Al. Have you been to Mobile, Al. Port of entry for Fire Ants and in the 1980's was the VD capital of the USA. Only two of the many reasons to try and escape Mobile. But, yea, blame it on the wind.

Why does the narrator say that the ship struck the "Delta" support of the "Bay Bridge", but the video shows nothing but the Golden Gate Bridge? I caught some mispronunciation and irrelevant pictures to the description, too, but still some interesting videos.

If a ship is registered to multiple countries, multiple companies or somewhere remote and unrelated... it means it's either running illegal material or is unsafe... or both... and the operators know it.
@thomasmoeller344610 ай бұрын
If you are referring to the "Arvin" segment, it was registered under different flag countries, at different times, under different owners. Not suspicious. Unless you are referring to a different segment?
@babalonkie10 ай бұрын
@@thomasmoeller3446 I am referring to ANY ship. It has been a known tactic to avoid responsibility/blame or insurance for centuries. It is still used by most countries today, especially to avoid sanction restrictions.

Two of the victims of the Costa Concordia were a local couple from here in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. They never traveled anywhere because they were raising their children and putting them through private school and college. They had literally waited to take their “trip of a lifetime”. They were the only Americans killed in the tragedy, all for the captain’s stupid stunt of steering close to shore to show off. Good thing that a-hole is still in prison.

Titanic and Estonia are easily world's most famous and BIGGEST ship collissions and mistakes and by the way my birthday is in september 28 just in a same day with a MOST terryfying ship collision/mistake Estonia what is in my opinion even worse than Titanic, but Did you guys heared about of Costa Concordia's Collission/Mistake, it's not that famous like Titanic and Estonia but it's one of BIGGEST ship collision/mistake in history too. History of shipping have been learned to us we have to make MORE safier and STRONGER POWERFUL ships. I'm glad here in Finland a ship architectures and builders are making safety ships in Rauma's Telakka, my uncle have been in building My Star ship what I wan't to try and I really wan't to try Norway's fjørn cruise ship cruises too. Ships are humanity's most AMAZED traveling vehicles, with these we use way of the water. 🌎🌍🌏🌊🌅🚢⛴️🛳
